Reviews

Silly fun

"Weird and silly but fun movie."

Lauri P. (5/5)

I read the premise for

"I read the premise for this flick and I knew it was a must purchase. So goofy and the humor was right up my alley. This is a great film to watch with a group of people and I was laughing so hard at the submarine scene. Great silly film."

Bryan K. (5/5)

Gives Sharknado a run for its money.

"Far better than it has any right to be."

Oscar M. (3/5)

Hotspring Shark Attack!

"This Utopia release is excellent. A great blend of horror with goofball comedy makes this movie a must watch. Very chaotic scenes with over the top visuals. Highly recommended for anyone into such genres. Packaging and presentation are great!"

Matt R. (5/5)

Bonkers Movie

"This was everything I hoped it would be and then some. 温泉 シャ--ク is a wild ride filled with cheesy practical effects, hasty CGI, and a gonzo story about ancient sharks that are cartilaginous and can fit through hotspring pipes and devour tourists in Atsumi City, the Monaco of the East. Some nicely exaggerated Jaws references, and hilarious commentary on tourists and influencers who annoy a lot of Japanese folks."

Joe Z. (5/5)

Simply amazing.

"While certainly not for everyone, I absolutely love the campy effects (both practical and CG), the absurd story, and how absolutely straight the whole thing is played. Stacked with extras, including a solid essay, I just wish they had gone with a different slip design."

Justin O. (5/5)

A great find

"First purchase of a title from Utopia and wasn't disappointed! Such silly, stupid fun and a great spirit."

MR H. (5/5)

Tons of fun. Absolutely love

"Tons of fun. Absolutely love the slipcover!"

Gabriel G. (4/5)

Shark Horror Shlock

"Hot Spring Shark Attack is pure, ridiculous fun—a movie that knows it’s absurd and leans into every over-the-top moment. The sharks, the chaos, and the goofy antics make it surprisingly entertaining if you just sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s silly and over-the-top, but that’s exactly what makes it so much fun to watch."

Shawn M. (4/5)

Campy fun

"Love campy films? CHECK. Love sharksploitation? CHECK CHECK. Love campy shake movies taking place in a hot spring? What are you waiting for exactly? Grab this film ASAP. The characters are well done and the effects charming while never feeling like it takes the viewers intelligence for granted the way many spoof films seem to do."
