Hell Comes to Frogtown

**** Comes to Frogtown is one of those movies where the premise tells you almost everything you need to know. Roddy Piper is basically the last fertile man in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, gets strapped into a government-controlled chastity device, and then gets sent to rescue women from mutant frog people. That is peak ’80s nonsense and I love it. 😁

Piper has exactly the right amount of attitude, Sandahl Bergman is great, and the frog makeup/effects are way better than they have any right to be. The movie is goofy, sleazy, weird, and completely committed to the bit.

The VS release looks surprisingly strong too. It was restored in 4K from a 35mm interpositive, and the extras are stacked with commentary, Piper and Randall Frakes interviews, an effects feature, extended material, and more. The Polish variant slipcover by Robert Sammelin is also killer and was limited to 4,000 copies.

Completely ridiculous? Absolutely. One of the most fun post-apocalyptic cult movies in my collection? Also absolutely 😂

Synopsis: In a post apocalyptic future where the majority of the earths population is dead and the rest are mostly sterile it's up to Cocksman extraordinaire Sam **** to save the world. Sam has his vast criminal record expunged and reluctantly becomes a provisional government employee. His first mission is to travel with the **** doctor Spangle and **** soldier Centinella to Frogtown, a town inhabited by giant mutant frogs, to rescue and impregnate a group of fertile women that are being held captive by the evil Commander Toty.

Review: The frogs look amazing and the whole story is so ridiculous it seems like an adult film script had all the hardcore stuff cut out and made into a legitimate film. **** Comes to Frogtown is a lot of fun that takes itself seriously enough to not be cheesy and be an above average action flick with a crazy story and rich background. It really made me want to see more of Frogtown and it's various inhabitants.

This was a frequent rental of my brother and I when we were kids. To finally own this movie with this quality is a dream come true. I got the special limited slipcover version and it's very cool!
