By Katie Skelly

Four young women investigate a vanishing strip club in this supernatural, surreal graphic novel.

Out past the edge of town, there exists a strip club called Heaven that only some can find. Some say it's a mirage. Others say you can't miss the giant neon heels lighting up the desert night skies.

Dolly can't find a place to belong. After losing her identity as a gymnast and navigating family turbulence, she's adrift from school and friends. When a mysterious presence beckons her to Heaven, she wonders if she may just have found her place -- but just what does it want in return?

Katie Skelly's first graphic novel since her acclaimed Maids in 2020, Heaven finds out what happens when the artist's quintessential cool girl characters let their guards down and let the world in. With a supernatural strip club backdrop and an eye-popping sense of color that would make Dario Argento proud, Heaven reinforces Skelly's place as one of the most distinctive voices working in contemporary comics today.

    I adore Richard Sala and

"I adore Richard Sala and was saddened when I learned he passed away. This book is a real pleasure to go through, made with the help from another one of my favorite artist, Daniel Clowes."

    Amazing comics

"A trippy noirish graphic novel from an artist I was introduced to on Liquid Television all those years ago! Great stuff if you like comics that challenge you."

    More than expected.

"I was surprised to find that this isn’t just the pages of Night Drive. That’s only half the book. The rest is a bunch of great essays and supplementary images that give you a pretty good idea of who Richard Sala was. Fantagraphics kicks ass, as usual."

    George J. (5/5)

The revival of a Sala classic

"I've been a huge fan of Richard Sala's comics since discovering his work in the pages of Raw magazine and various Kitchen Sink and Fantagraphics anthologies in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Had heard about this early collection self published by Sala in a limited edition of 500 copies and after decades looking I had pretty much given up finding it. This new hardcover version is a beautiful book and the background material and other samples of Sala's work make it a must buy for the fan of an artist who combined Edward Gorey, Universal Monsters, Grand Guignol, Charles Addams and many other genres and influences into a gorgeous style. Very happy to have this addition to my Sala collection. I really appreciate Vinegar Syndrome carrying these books as it makes it very easy to add to my orders. Thanks!!!"
