"These are 2 great German adventure movies from the late 1950’s meant to be watched together and are both by the famed silent film director Fritz Lang. These are both subtitled in English. Really enjoyed these both and the scenery and the shots they get of India of that era are breathtaking. Can tell they were early precursors to the Indians Jones films. Only downside was some of the fighting was a little too choreographed but other than that I highly enjoyed and recommend these films. I didn’t get the slip with it but the packaging was top notch as usual"
"The Indian Epic is a sweeping, visually rich adventure that feels grand in both scale and storytelling. Fritz Lang brings a sense of precision and atmosphere, blending romance, intrigue, and spectacle in a way that feels classic and immersive. It’s a bit old-school in its pacing, but the lush visuals and epic scope make it a rewarding watch."
"I'd seen both of these before and they look great on this release, especially the color cinematography. Nice to have a slipcover for them now, too. These may remind you a bit of the Indiana Jones films!"
"The scenery amd stunning Debra Paget keeps your interest. Be aware this is back in the day when whitw actors would play other races in brown face ans it’s jarring. The prince is a jerk but at least seems to have some layers ans they try to explain him a bit. The male hero is a douchbag who pushes his way into a temple and is very much disrespectful of the culture. the hero actor is also dull as a wet sock. Still I did like it. Also if you like big boobed statues this is the movie for you."
"Fritz Lang’s Indian Epic: The Tiger of Eschnapur and The Indian Tomb is a sweeping adventure that showcases Fritz Lang at the end of his career with remarkable confidence. Together, the two films create an expansive story filled with romance, political intrigue, and striking visual spectacle that still feels grand decades later. The overall feel of the epic is immersive. Rich production design, colorful locations, and deliberate pacing give the films a classic, old-Hollywood sense of adventure that’s easy to get lost in. The slipcover is beautifully designed and gives the set an elegant collector’s appeal. The artwork complements the films perfectly and adds impressive shelf presence without feeling overdone. From the moment the bill arrives, it’s clear this is a premium release worth the investment. The presentation is excellent, with strong transfers and thoughtful packaging that do justice to these classic films. Overall, this is an outstanding edition of an often-overlooked epic and an easy recommendation for fans of classic adventure cinema."
"Who knew that Lang directed a few Indiana jones style adventure romps? This is such a charming release."
"A favorite of mine I have not seen in decades. Great artwork on this 2 disc release, including a booklet. I’ve never seen the film look better. Only criticism, would have been nice to see this release upgraded to 4K versus older Film Movement release."
"Debra Paget. . . my God what a beauty. I have no idea why she isn't a legendary beauty like a Marilyn Monroe or Brigitte Bardot. We get to see her do alot of dancing which I'm totally fine with. A great double feature directed by the great Fritz Lang and they are both so pulpy and action packed. Gorgeous colors too. So happy to finally get a chance to watch this one. Way underrated both of them. Great release by Film Movement."
"Great looking films but not really my kind of thing. Slipcover looks great!"
