Saturn's Core Audio & Video is a New Jersey based home video label devoted to releasing underground oddities and shot on video cinema on VHS, and now, blu-ray discs! In partnership with OCN Distribution, Saturn's Core will exhume forgotten or under-seen genre cinema from the 80s and 90s, with an emphasis on SOV horror features. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

A ravenous, predatory creature from deep space arrives on Earth and unleashes its insatiable appetite for flesh and blood on an unsuspecting, seaside town. Assigned by his superiors to hunt down the creature, former starship commander David Riggs (Greg Scott) recruits the assistance of a reluctant psychic investigator named Sandra Lynn (Kathy Monks), who’s been haunted by gruesome, clairvoyant visions of the monster savagely mutilating the towns’ local teenagers. When her innocent young daughter is killed, Sandra tracks the beast to its underwater lair in a kamikaze attempt to detonate a thermonuclear termination device and obliterate the creature (and herself) once and for all.

A mind-shattering, analog splatterfest that blissfully unfolds amidst the late ‘80s shopping malls, rock clubs, and shorelines of Ocean and Monmouth County, NJ, Flesh Eaters from Outer Space (aka A Taste for Flesh & Blood) marked the headbanging SOV feature debut of legendary Neptune, New Jersey-based writer/director Warren F. Disbrow (Invasion for Flesh and Blood, Scarlet Moon). In the tradition of Humanoids from the Deep and Nightbeast, big teeth, big hair, and big riffs abound in this regional, “man in a suit” monster epic that’s bursting at the seams with jaw-dropping nudity and practical gore FX. A 1980s love letter to the monster movies of the ‘50s featuring homespun dismemberments, disembowelments, and decapitations at every turn, Disbrow’s Flesh Eaters from Outer Space remains one of the seminal ‘80s horror features that would help put New Jersey on the map as a hub for micro-budget, shot on video filmmaking in the decades to come.

Wild alien flick with fun effects and lots of extras

"This is quite an interesting film. The DIY effects are a hoot, especially the murder rampage at the start. The do a lot with their budget and the quick editing of the kills makes them a real standout (and helps hide the low budget). It flips between alien murders, boyfriends who are chuds, and basically just a guy sitting at a desk on the phone. Somehow, I was still enthralled by the guy on the phone and all his plotting. Great extras and a very thick booklet, plus some incredible artwork, make this one of the best SOV flicks Saturn's Core has released if you ask me."

Great fun ode to 50s/60s monster/alien films

"As soon as I read the description of this, I knew I would enjoy it. A superbly fun, low-budget film with good gore and kills. Loads of extras - including a 2-hour extended VHS cut. Excellent value for money and another great release from Saturn’s Core. Superb slipcover and artwork."

Flesh eaters

"Flesh Eaters from Outer Space is a gloriously goofy low-budget creature feature that embraces its B-movie roots with infectious enthusiasm. Its handmade effects, strange alien monsters, and wonderfully earnest performances give it an irresistible DIY charm. It’s a perfect cult-movie pick for anyone who enjoys cheesy sci-fi horror made with more passion than money."

Jersey SOV Monster Bloodbath

"Flesh Eaters from Outer Space is pure Saturn's Core territory: New Jersey shot-on-video monster madness with big teeth, big hair, rock clubs, shorelines and a creature hungry enough to tear through the whole town. Warren F. Disbrow's debut has that regional horror charm where every rough edge becomes part of the fun, especially once the practical gore and man-in-a-suit chaos kick in. I love that OCN and Saturn's Core keep preserving these micro-budget oddities, because this is exactly the sort of bloody local legend that could have slipped through the cracks."

A Taste of Flesh and Blood and Psychics and Rubber Suits

"So much fun and ambitious world building. Truly a time capsule and has such an awesome monster suit. Can't wait for the sequel to get the same release treatment."

Jersey, baby!

"An excellent low budget horror-science fiction flick about a flesh eating alien terrorizing the Jersey Shore area. A hardboiled astronaut turned alien hunter and a precog tanning bed saleswoman team up to find and destroy the creature. Includes terrible 80's hair, gratuitous nudity, some great low budget gore, a pointless serial killer character, and a lot of young Jersey guys saying, "Come onnnn, you know you want to do it" to their girlfriends. Lots of fun to be had with this movie."

Connor B. (5/5)

Flesh Eaters is great!

"I loved this movie. Absolutely ridiculous with great gore and kills. Nudity too! It's one of the better looking SOV movies. Subtitles were excellent."
