Five Women for the Killer

Five Women for the Killer is a nasty little giallo in the best way. The whole setup is bleak from the start, and once the black-gloved killer starts targeting women connected to the same maternity clinic, the movie gets mean fast. I liked how it keeps throwing suspicion around without losing that sleazy early-’70s atmosphere.

Stelvio Massi gives it a really sharp visual style too. The widescreen framing, gloomy color palette, and violent set pieces give the movie more personality than a lot of lesser gialli, and the score adds even more tension. It’s definitely not one of the more elegant entries in the genre — this one has teeth.

The Blu-ray presentation is excellent. Vinegar Syndrome restored the original theatrical cut in 4K from a 35mm archival positive, and the image looks strong while still keeping the right film texture. The commentary and multiple interviews give the release real depth, and the gore inserts from the re-edited version are a fun extra.

And the limited Dani Manning slipcover looks fantastic, especially with the spot-gloss treatment. Mean movie, killer artwork, stacked release — easy 5/5 for me. 😁

Suspense material to cover all the needs!

great

Five Women for the Killer is a stylish giallo that delivers an engaging blend of mystery, suspense, and elegant visual flair. Its moody atmosphere and intriguing twists keep the story compelling as the investigation unfolds. The film is a rewarding cult thriller that showcases the timeless appeal of classic Italian genre cinema.

A gritty and stylish film that mixes murder with an eerie jazz score and a dark, unsettling atmosphere. Though the plot is simple and unevenly paced, giallo fans will still appreciate it.
