Fire Will Come

A very movie film

Great sense of naturalism on this. The fire on screen is so very visceral and impressive

Masterpiece of visual storytelling. The opening sequence with the trees and then the main character driving over the bridge with beautiful music is in my top 5 of opening sequences of all time. Right up there with Fellinis 8 1/2, Carlos Reygadas Japon, Tarkovskys Solaris, and Tobe Hoopers Texas chainsaw massacre.

Beautiful cinematography, excellent acting by all, and great soundtrack. The main character is an enigma. . . he says very little. The director keeps him mostly a mystery which I appreciated. Every time I watch this I have different ideas about him. . . . sometimes good sometimes bad. Great for repeated viewings.

I owned this on dvd before KimStim partnered with vinegar syndrome. So happy to have this now on blu ray with an excellent slip. Only problem with packaging is there is no booklet of essays and pics. Maybe KimStim will one day give us a 4k with booklet and possible a vinyl soundtrack?:)

Fire Will Come is a quiet, haunting drama that explores grief, isolation, and the destructive power of nature through the eyes of a man trying to rebuild his life after a devastating fire. The film’s deliberate pacing and stunning natural cinematography create an almost meditative atmosphere that lingers long after the credits roll. It’s a slow burn, but the emotional depth and raw realism make it a quietly powerful watch.

Captivating film about a man returning home to his old mother after serving time for arson. The suspicious locals know who to blame when another fire starts.

Highly recommended
