Feardotcom

Gets a lot of hate but it gets nostalgic points from me because I grew up with this movie Plus I have a soft spot for a lot of 2000's horror flicks. The slipcover is absolutely gorgeous

William Malone is an interesting director, but this film is kind of messy and clearly fails to achieve its goal.

Anyway its a good disc if you're curious about Malone's work

Movie:

Right from the start this is a pretty infuriating watch. It's irritating and convoluted, but the tone is too serious for it to be an amusing so-bad-its-good. Huge waste of Jeffrey Combs. Probably good fodder for an amusing *review* that dives into all the little things that are bad about it, but seeing it first-hand just kind of sucks. Just to pull one specific example, the titular website isn't "fear. com", it's "www.feardotcom.***". What?

Extras:

Pretty packed, especially if you like commentaries. The visual essay was good, although it was bringing up mosty movies that are WAY better than this one. Kudos to having the trailer, as well as some other trailers.

Book:

Another good reference point for other movies around the same time dealing with similar concepts.

Packaging:

Better than the movie deserves to be frank.

Oh the pleasure this film brings me for finally being in a good release. The transfer makes it look wonderful for an early 00s horror scare fest. The effects look kinda eh, but it is apart of the charm of course!

Great looking cover, wish I'd been in time and gotten the slip cover as it looks insane. But the inside art of the cover is still fantastic.
