Dead of Night

was this made in sweden?

Dead of Night still works incredibly well because every story feels different, but the framing setup keeps this weird sense of dread hanging over the whole movie. The ventriloquist segment is obviously the standout for me — Michael Redgrave is fantastic, and that dummy is still creepy as ****.

I love how restrained the movie is too. It doesn’t need gore or huge effects to get under your skin. The atmosphere, shadows, performances, and that increasingly unsettling circular structure do most of the work.

The presentation is a big part of the appeal for me as a collector too. The artwork fits the old-school horror vibe perfectly, and having a film this important treated like a proper boutique release just feels right.

Smart, eerie, beautifully made, and still effective decades later. Easy 5/5 for me. 😁

A lovely trip back in time to making fun videos with your friends. Great selection of bonus features as well. Awesome to see this stuff preserved, would love to see more from these creators.

So amazing to discover this series that was filmed right in my backyard! The extras are amazing and the bonus episodes that were previously unreleased are very cool. Think low budget X files meets the atmosphere of Twin Peaks, all done on a shoestring budget of course. My wife and I loved working our way through the episodes.

Truly unique piece of outsider art. Everybody here seems like a fun hang.
