He is forced back into action when his young daughter is kidnapped by a secret ninja organization, led by a Central American dictator who wants to create a new world order through time... Unfortunately for them, she is the only thing he would kill again for. Hunter will have to fight his way through an army of ninjas, vietcongs, punks, dinosaurs, mutants, one of his former commandos and a fully equipped private army. Reviews

A hugely enjoyable love letter to VHS-era action movies

"Commando Ninja is a wildly entertaining tribute to the golden age of 1980s action cinema. Ninjas, commandos, cyborgs, time travel, dinosaurs and excessive violence are thrown together with obvious affection for films like Commando, Rambo, Predator, The Terminator and American Ninja. The result is deliberately ridiculous, but also surprisingly ambitious and packed with creative ideas. Unlike New York Ninja, the fights feel much more energetic and imaginatively staged. The practical gore, explosive action, wonderfully cheesy dialogue and excellent retro soundtrack make the short running time fly by. The Blu-ray looks very good, although the intentionally added scratches and grindhouse processing mean it is not supposed to appear perfectly clean. Colors are bold, the synth-heavy audio has plenty of impact, and the extensive making-of documentary—which is almost as long as the film—is an outstanding addition. The disc is also region-free."

Commando Ninja is go!

"Ridiculous fun. Highly recommend. Get it before it's gone, along with the even better sequel."

Caleb S. (5/5)

A killer title, pretty good

"A killer title, pretty good execution. This is a fun movie that doesn't take itself seriously but probably should have. There is a little too much "camera wink" to some of the scenarios. That said, no regrets and it is fun watch."

Ben H. (5/5)

The ultimate action film parody

"This made me laugh, again, and again, and again. Immediately after watching I ordered the sequel. Great movie."

Randy F. (5/5)

Great movie so much fun

"Love the extras in the movie and the crime Syndicate is good and the camp is wonderful I love this movie 1&2 I will watch this over and over"

Adam M. (5/5)

Low budget but lots of fun

"This is a parody/tribute to 80’s action movies, particularly Commando, Predator, and Terminator, but also many others. There is plenty of action, bloodshed but also lots of cheezy dialogues, just as expected in this kind of movie. Despite its low budget, this movie was clearly made with lots of love and great attention to details. Beside ninjas, you can also expect communists soldiers, cyborgs and other surprises. I definitely recommend this one highly to any fan of old action movies."

Francis V. (5/5)

Nostalgia bait

"Briskly paced nostalgia bait. Not my favorite release but the cool practical effects won me over, and it benefits greatly by not overstaying its welcome. All in all a fun time, but I would probably rather just watch one of the 80s action classics that it is paying homage to."

Jon B. (3/5)

Retro perfection

"I’m so glad someone still makes them like they used to!"

Henry S. (5/5)
