Fantastic movies!! never seen these classic films, look this good before. Vinegar Syndrome did an excellent job of restoring two of my favorite films. Bonus: excellent special features too.

This set is basically pure martial-arts comfort food for me. Cynthia Rothrock is ridiculously easy to root for as China O’Brien, and pairing her with Richard Norton and Keith Cooke gives both movies exactly the kind of late-’80s/early-’90s action energy I love. The first movie has that great small-town-corruption setup, while the sequel wastes very little time getting everybody back into fights.
These aren’t trying to be deep movies — they’re here for roundhouse kicks, stunt work, bad guys getting wrecked, and Rothrock proving why she earned the “Queen of Martial Arts” nickname. That works perfectly for me. 😁
The 4K transfers are a huge part of why this set is worth owning. Both films were restored in 4K from their original 35mm camera negatives with Dolby Vision, and they look way better than the old home-video presentations I associate with this kind of movie. The four-disc set is loaded too, with commentaries, new cast interviews, and a 40-minute archival making-of documentary.
Classic video-store action, killer fights, and a proper physical-media upgrade. Easy 5/5 and exactly the kind of release I want sitting on my shelf. 😁

Something about these films screams "lazy afternoon". Weaker action than the Hong Kong Rothrock films, but these have endearing characters and form a (relatively) cohesive two-film saga. Packaging is very good, high-quality. Special shout-out to the commentaries, which feel like hanging out with knowledgeable friends.

Underrated 90's action franchise & it's some of Cynthia Rothrock's best work in her career!

Anything with Rothrock is worth a watch. Pretty tame, but still enjoyable. Some real “characters” for sure. Kinda reminds me of a made for tv Chuck Norris movie.
