Censor

A very interesting throwback horror film with meta commentary on Britain's infamous video nasties era and a look at how the loss of her sister has impacted the central character Enid.

It's fun to think and feel yourself into the position of someone who is tasked with or has chosen to censor the very films we love, even if I, personally, don't count myself among the full-on gore hound crowd myself.

Enid and her colleagues seem to both want to protect young children from getting their hands on certain films and having the ability to rewind and rewatch gruesome scenes, but they also see themselves as savior mediators between what the censorship rules demand and what the filmmakers are trying to give their audience.

This gets to be quite the head trip at times and I think I need to rewatch this at some point to fully wrap my head around it.

cute film

A kool movie from Vinegar Syndrome a course.

This was a unique horror film. I felt like it was a mix of the usual Vinegar Syndrome horror releases with a touch of Saint Maud. Although it’s not necessarily my kind of movie, I enjoyed the film enough and felt the value was there.

A Smart film for VinSyn to distribute through their VinSyn Pictures Sub-label. A wonderful throwback & Homage to the UK's Video Nasty Era.
