Great Saturn's Core Release
"A Saturn's Core release I kept forgetting to pick up and got during the sale. More fun than higher budget stuff that's shot on film with the same kind of schlock. Beautiful restoration for something shot on tape."
This special limited edition slipcover (designed by Nate Higley) is limited to 1,000 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.
Saturn's Core Audio & Video is a New Jersey based home video label devoted to releasing underground oddities and shot on video cinema on VHS, and now, blu-ray discs! In partnership with OCN Distribution, Saturn's Core will exhume forgotten or under-seen genre cinema from the 80s and 90s, with an emphasis on SOV horror features. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!
When wrongdoers and lawbreakers are on the prowl, there’s only one man for the job. Meet Sgt. Al T. Lunch; IOU1 PD’s most diligent and decorated officer. With over 300 arrests under his belt, Sgt. Lunch is revered by his peers, beloved by his community, and a prominent subject of interest for local ace reporter Mary Lowdown of the Daily Tattletale. That is until Lunch’s vengeful and envious twin brother Feast constructs the ultimate killing machine: a super human, Terminator-esque cyborg known as The Annihilator who marauds through the city maiming and mutilating innocent citizens. To make matters worse, Feast has disguised himself as his do-gooding twin and committed acts of robbery and murder in order to sully Lunch’s good name. With his reputation tarnished and his job on the line, Lunch must do battle with The Annihilator and put an end to Feast’s reign of terror once and for all.
Shot during downtime by a group of friends stationed at California’s Fort Ord military base in 1991, Bloodfeast!: The Adventures of Sgt. Lunch is a SOV comedy / horror / action mashup displaying the unbridled filmmaking imagination and youthful exuberance of writer / director Dave Palamaro (Murder Made Easy, In Heaven There Is No Beer). Boasting potentially dangerous amateur stunts, innovative homespun steadycam gymnastics, and a plethora of gaudy ‘90s fashions, Saturn’s Core is proud to issue the first ever physical media release of Sgt. Lunch, featuring a director curated collection of featurettes, rare outtakes, and early short video works.

"A Saturn's Core release I kept forgetting to pick up and got during the sale. More fun than higher budget stuff that's shot on film with the same kind of schlock. Beautiful restoration for something shot on tape."
"What finally got me to buy this was noticing that the special features included a tribute to the late Dean Galanis, with whom I worked at the late, great TLA video store chain in Philadelphia. That featurette was short but sweet. I'm glad I picked it up anyway, if only to expand my SOV library further beyond horror. These movies, including the shorts, all rate between 6&7/10 for me; like when a director uses the same players, it's interesting to watch Palamaro's growth within the medium. What's especially clear & worthwhile (for me, at least), is his love of cinema shining through. Happy to own this!"

"The slipcover is awesome, as always with anything VS or their awesome partner Labels release! The humor in this picture was really funny and though it is low budget, that only adds to its charm! it was a fun feast from the beginning until the very end! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"
