Blood Tracks

This is not a 5 star movie. But it gets 5 stars because of how satisfying it is. It delivered on everything i was expecting. I wanted a schlocky Hills Have Eyes rip off w/ plenty of T&A, dumb characters, and good kills that is a lot of fun. That's exactly what it delivered. It even threw in some cheezy 80's **** rock for extra measure. The slip is fantastic, the original poster art on the reversible sleeve is even better, and the transfer looks great. Really enjoyed this movie and very happy to have it in the collection. Go into this w/ the right frame of mind and you might dig this movie too.

As a collector of 1980s slasher films, I had a good time with Blood Tracks. The combination of an isolated snowy location, a glam metal band and a murderous family gives it a fun identity of its own. It is not one of the greatest slashers of the decade, and some scenes are rather dark and confusing, but it delivers enough kills, sleaze and wonderfully cheesy rock music to keep me entertained.

The picture quality is very good and probably the best the film has ever looked. Unfortunately, the audio has a noticeable strange, wavering quality at times. It did not make the film unwatchable for me, but it is definitely the weak point of this release and should have been mentioned more clearly.

The disc also includes a generous collection of interviews and other extras. For general viewers this may be closer to a 6/10 film, but as an enthusiastic slasher collector, I give it 7/10.

A cheesy and entertaining 80s snowy horror with some fun kills, worth checking out if you like campy slashers.
