Blind Faith

Blind Faith is a tough little VHSHITFEST rescue: a regional late-80s slasher/thriller hybrid that feels grimy, uneven, and genuinely obscure in the right way. The police-procedural structure and Gary Heidnik-inspired setup give it a nastier true-crime edge than a lot of SOV-adjacent horror, and the low-budget texture actually helps the whole thing feel more uncomfortable. It is talky in stretches, but the murder scenes, odd performances, and jaw-dropping final moments make it stick. The release is the real selling point, with the Dean Wilson commentary and interviews, trailer, photo gallery, SDH subtitles, and a huge batch of bonus shorts and features giving the disc a lot of context. Exactly the sort of nearly-lost regional oddity that deserves this kind of treatment.

Blind Faith is a gripping and emotional drama that tackles themes of race, justice, and family with powerful performances and a strong script. The chemistry between the leads adds depth to a story that’s both personal and politically resonant. It’s a compelling and thoughtful film that lingers long after the credits roll.

Ehhh, probably worth skipping
