Reviews
Moody
"I bought this because it has Judy Reyes in it and I love Scrubs. Stupid reason? Yes. Disappointed? Nope. A pretty anxious, moody film with some body horror elements and good performances. The main issue is just that its also pretty predictable. Not too shabby though, the atmosphere is worth it."
— Derrick A. (3/5)
Birf/rebirf
"This modern, female-led reimagining of the classic Frankenstein tale is an absolute knockout that balances intense psychological drama with visceral body horror. Actors deliver flawless, deeply unsettling performances. Good flick."
— Kevin G. (5/5)
A fantastic presentation of this recent gem

— Kelly K. (5/5)
An incredible piece of work
"The best Shudder release ever. Director Laura Moss deserves all the praise in the world, as does her two leading ladies - both do an incredible job but Marin Ireland as the emotionally disconnected Rose is simply sensational - for crafting this amazingly unnerving motion picture experience. Black as moonless night in its comic undertones and equally as disturbing, the movie tackles some mighty themes and existential conundrums, as it unrelentingly and without regard for the audiences sensibilities, travels with remorseless precision towards its bleak but inevitable conclusion. Well done. This caught me completely off guard and man I love that feeling. The transfer is pristine and the slipcover is truly amazing."
— Nicklas J. (5/5)
Okayish
"Liked it. . not perfect but still okay. ."
— Richard J. (3/5)
Bleak
"If you like your horror bleak and depressing then definitely grab this one. Disturbing without being graphic. Great movie."
— Nick M. (4/5)
Frankenstein Retold
"Directed by Laura Moss, Birth/Rebirth follows pathologist Rose (Marin Ireland) and maternity nurse Celie (Judy Reyes) as they form a disturbing alliance to reanimate Celie’s deceased daughter. The film explores themes of motherhood, grief, and medical ethics through a lens of unsettling intimacy. Visually stark and psychologically intimate, Birth/Rebirth explores motherhood, control, and scientific obsession with unnerving precision. It’s a slow burn, but a potent one — a cerebral, feminist horror that lingers long after the credits roll"
— Tarek E. (3/5)
