Circle Collective formed in June 2019 in order to provide a new avenue for and community around creative distribution as an artist-forward, feature film marketing and distribution consulting agency. In partnership with OCN, Circle Collective will begin to release contemporary indie cinema across a variety of genres and origins onto physical media, maintaining the same artist-forward perspective as in their theatrical campaigns. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

Before there was Tom Green...before there was Jackass...there was Ralph Zavadil. His Canadian cable access show, The Cap'n Video Show, ran from 1990 to 1995, spawning a small but loyal cult following. Each week, Ralph performed a series of idiotic and occasionally dangerous stunts, challenging the sensibilities of his small audience for five seasons. With the advent of the internet and reality television still years away, his unique brand of gross-out stunt comedy was truly ahead of its time. All it took was a broken neck for him to get noticed.

Now, thirteen years after his show disappeared from the airwaves, Ralph decides to give the Cap'n one last chance in a brand new anniversary special shot for the same cable station that cancelled him years earlier. Together with his best friend Robert, Ralph attempts to recapture the magic that made him a local hero so many year ago, while confronting some of the unexpected - and sometimes dark - turns his life has taken since his days on Cable 10.

Awesome

"Man this a great documentary. I didn't know anything about this before I got it, and it is now one of my favorite docs. One mans original thaughts played out in real time with no outside influence. Enough can't be said about this movie. Watch it."

Daniel W. (5/5)

A Fantastic Beauty Day

"Never heard of CapNVideo before but got curious who the man behind it all is. Wow a great ride, a lot of fun stunts and one that was an awful accident. All in all a great doc on a guy that loves life. Great extras, including the 20th anniversary show of CapNVideo Highly recommended"

Hansi L. (5/5)

Liked it

"Beauty Day is a worthwhile documentary, especially for viewers who enjoy offbeat, small-scale stories about eccentric creators, local culture, or media oddities. It’s not perfect, but the charm, character, and honesty carry it well. Zavadil is compelling enough to make you care, even when his antics are absurd. If you like documentaries that show the underbelly / fringes of entertainment (Jackass-style, stunt culture, cult TV), this is a highly recommended watch. If you prefer more polished, sweeping documentaries or strong sociopolitical angle, this may be more of a niche pick."

"Good documentary."

Pre-Jackass doc

"This was an interesting look into Cap'n Video, a Canadian who did stunts on local access cable. This was an interesting look into pre-Jackass home video stunts."
