Barricade

What begins as a weekend camping trip in Germany's isolated Black Forest quickly descends into unimaginable terror when a group of friends wander onto the hunting grounds of a sadistic, cannibalistic family. Cut off from civilization and stalked through the wilderness, their fight for survival becomes an unflinching descent into brutality where escape seems impossible. Uncompromising in its violence and packed with grisly practical effects, BARRICADE is a savage backwoods nightmare that pushes the survival horror genre to its grotesque limits.

Released at the height of the 2000s extreme horror boom, BARRICADE emerged alongside the wave of independent shockers that embraced gritty realism, practical gore, and relentless suffering. While drawing inspiration from the backwoods terror of films like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Wrong Turn, and the era's brutal "torture porn" movement, director Timo Rose carves out his own unique identity with a distinctly European edge.
