As usual, it will be packaged in VSU's custom designed hard box featuring newly created art by Tom Hodge!
James Dalton is a tough-as-nails bouncer with a reputation for using any and all force necessary to "keep the peace." Meanwhile, Frank Tilghman, a country businessman, is having trouble maintaining control over the violent patrons and crooked staff at his newly acquired club, the Double Deuce. Upon learning of Dalton's take-no-prisoners attitude toward security, he makes a proposal too good for Dalton to refuse; summoning him from The Big Apple to Jasper, MO and handing him the reins to the bar, on the promise that he clean the place up. But no sooner than his first few days in charge does he wind up stabbed and in the hospital. With the knowledge that he's up against a gang of thugs who play even dirtier than he does, Dalton throws caution to the wind and prepares for a fight that will inevitably send someone six feet under...
Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing, Ghost), Kelly Lynch (Drugstore Cowboy), Sam Elliott (Tombstone, The Big Lewbowski), and Ben Gazzara (The Killing of a Chinese Bookie) headline an all-star cast in director Rowdy Herrington's blockbuster turned cult classic, ROAD HOUSE. Newly restored in 4K from its 35mm original camera negative, specifically for this release, and bursting with both new and archival extras, Vinegar Syndrome Ultra is proud to give this ass-kicking classic the kick-ass special edition it deserves.

Very much worth the upgrade!
"The Shout BD was very good, but this upgrade to UHD from VS is well worth it. Some say the color timing is too hot, but I thought it looked great. Great collectible presentation with the new hard case and slipcover. Nice booklet, too. Of course, the Jeff Healey music sounded great as well."

Just as Beautiful as the Original VSU
"I'm so happy Vinegar Syndrome released this new limited edition slipcase for Road House. I missed out on the original VSU release, so getting another chance to own it is fantastic. The new edition is just as beautiful, with gorgeous packaging that looks amazing on the shelf. As for the film itself, Road House remains one of the most entertaining and cozy '80s movies around, an endlessly rewatchable classic and another excellent release from Vinegar Syndrome."
— Tobias M. (5/5)
Patrick at his finest
"The transfer and picture quality is exactly what's expected from vinegar syndrome. High quality items with many amazing extras. Definitely one of Patrick Swayze's best roles."

What Film used to be: 5star Disc, 4 star movie!!
"A long time ago when Film was exciting, entertaining & where you escaped reality, Films like this were released by the bucket load. One of them which was released in 1989 was this - Rowdy Herrington's Modern day Action packed Western,Road House, a drifter comes into town to clean up a hellhole of a club of which the club is run by locals who control the police & everyone else of which one powerful man rules with his goons backing him up. Dalton, played by the late Patrick Swayze has other ideas as he is paid to take out the trash! Fights, violence, shoot outs, swear words, stunning hot adult women, & sex make this one of my favourite movies & is a very good Film, as I watch it even more Director - Rowdy Herrington deserves a lot more of respect than he gets from critics, & other media sources who pan this movie. Well I will say this to people who hate this movie - this is a proper movie of which Film used to be & in my view still is, I can't stand these poor adaptations of comic books onto the big screen!"

All time vape!
"The 8os were nothing without Swayze. Vinsyn goes above and beyond with this release. Great features and commentary from previous releases. Well written essays in the well put together booklet."
— Charles P. (5/5)
PW’s Best Film?
"Huge fan of Dirty Dancing and Donnie Darko (and alliterations), but Road House is easily Pat’s greatest film to date. It literally has it all, and this condensed VSA set without the ugly art from the OG pressing it the best version yet!"
— Aaron P. (5/5)
VSU's fourth deluxe release is
"VSU's fourth deluxe release is a three-disc set built around a brand new 4K scan from the original 35mm negative, and it makes every previous version of this film look like a bootleg. Rowdy Herrington's gloriously stupid 1989 masterpiece has never looked this good, and the magnetic book-style case with 40-page booklet and over two hours of extras treats it with the reverence it absolutely deserves."
— Tristin B. (5/5)
Be Nice Until It’s Time
"Road House is pure comfort-food action: Swayze cool, Sam Elliott charm, Ben Gazzara sleaze, and enough barroom chaos to make the Double Deuce feel mythical. The VSU treatment is exactly what this deserves: great presentation, a strong 4K restoration, and a pile of extras for a movie that only gets more fun every time I revisit it."
— Danny W. (5/5)

"Due care and attention clearly impaired with this transfer great cast and amazing soundtrack"
— Peter F. (3/5)
