When a family of telekinetic extraterrestrials dying on a parched planet are vacuumed into a NASA rover and transplanted to Earth, they inadvertently become literal illegal aliens, on the run from the United States government! "I own this on vhs and have the Shout Factory bluray but this edition beats them all. I haven't watched the bonus features yet, but they look great. I'm especially excited for the new interview with Tony award-winning actress Christina Ebersole. As always, the VSU box and packaging are of the highest quality. The family portraiture that graces it is amusing. Great job VS! A release for the history books."

Back in the early 2000’s my buddy bought the dvd of this at Wally World and threw it out the window of the car on the way home because there were no special features. "Obviously made famous by Paul Rudd's appearances on Conan, this is a quirky little 80s flick with a strange little alien and a fun "musical" sequence. The alternate, darker ending is a wonderful and depressing inclusion."
"What a head scratcher. I never grew up with this movie so this is actually my first time seeing it, amazingly. It’s a wonder it was even made. I loved the practical effects and the gall to rip off ET so shamelessly but the most remarkable part of it is the product placement. Every other scene is a Coke product or a McDonalds logo. Truly astounding. The special features are great. They include interviews with the director, main actress, cinematographer, camera man, theme song writer and special effects artist. You never know what kind of interviews you will get with older movies that are relatively bigger in scope than other VS releases. The people they interview can be far removed from the movie so this was a welcome set. One of my favorite VSU artworks. Love the family portrait. The overall packaging is phenomenal. Will definitely be revisiting this."

I viewed this film on the Mac and Me Vinegar Syndrome ULTRA 4K Limited Edition physical media release and it is the same great premium level of packaging and presentation that you’ve come to expect from the special releases of this boutique label. No other brand beats Vinegar Syndrome at the cardboard game and this great slipcover is no exception to the consistently fantastic artwork and component quality this company produces. Why Mac and Me got such an incredible treatment is beyond my comprehension but I’m definitely here for it!"
