This special limited edition spot gloss slipcover (designed by Robert Sammelin) is limited to 6,000 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.

Aspiring young dancer Janet is desperate to leave her dead-end waitressing job - so, after a fight with her sleazy boyfriend Dino, and with the encouragement of her friend April, she decides to try her hand at prostitution. The two women set off to spend the night with one of April’s regular clients, a strange older man named Ron who lives in a vast, secluded old mansion. But before proceedings can get underway, the house is plunged into darkness and a razor-wielding assailant brutally slashes the throats of both Ron and April. Waking up the next day in a hospital bed, Janet attempts to relate the horrific events to grizzled Detective Armstrong, who dismisses her story as a drug-induced hallucination. However, as the mutilated corpses continue to pile up - and Armstrong continues to ignore the obvious - Janet and Dino attempt to uncover the truth, only to find themselves thrust into a nightmarish maze of murder, madness, and diabolical conspiracies.

One of the lesser-known productions to benefit from Canada’s tax incentive heyday, Claudio Castravelli’s EVIL JUDGMENT is a twisty-turny thriller inspired in equal parts by the contemporary slasher movie boom and the stylistic giallo offerings of the likes of Dario Argento - complete with menacing blue hue lighting and a razor-wielding, black-gloved killer. Filled to the brim with gloriously gushy throat slashings courtesy of future Academy Award-winning make-up artist Michèle Burke (Bram Stoker’s Dracula), EVIL JUDGMENT arrives in its Blu-ray world premiere, restored in 4K from the original 35mm camera negative by the slash-happy folks at Vinegar Syndrome, and complete with a judicious array of revelatory new bonus features which shed light on this long-overlooked Canuxploitation classic.

I 'Judge" This Flick As Very Good!

"I really enjoy all the films from this particular movie line and this one is no exception! It is a very good slice of horror and worth the price of admission! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

Canadian Giallo!

"I loved Evil Judgment! Cool kills and it's hard to tell where the story is going. It's a really nice looking Blu-ray too. Slipcover is really cool. I'm hard of hearing and I use subtitles. The subtitles on the disc were excellent. I didn't catch any errors."

Nolan L. (5/5)

Evil Judgement

"“Evil Judgement” is one of those movies I had never heard about previous to this release by Vinegar Syndrome and what a pleasant surprise it was! Super fun and bloody slice and slash horror from the 1980s. The restoration in this presentation looks fantastic!"

Sebastian C. (5/5)

Classic tale of a woman turning to prostitution to solve her problems

"A fun slasher that you see the ending coming, but the journey was alright, there was gore and attractive ladies, and things of the 1980's. How many times have we seen a movie where a woman tries our prostitution and it all turns sour? It's still a fun genre romp. Thank you Canada."

Erik W. (4/5)
