The American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) represents the world's largest theatrical catalog of exploitation cinema. Their home video line presents a diverse selection of movies, ranging from new preservations of classics from the vast library of Something Weird to the wildest in shot-on-video (SOV) titles. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

Before starring in Wes Craven's The Last House on the Left, Sandra Peabody (aka Sandra Cassell) shined in Voices of Desire—a surreal, supernatural erotic horror hybrid and the debut feature film from exploitation auteur Chuck Vincent. Filmed in and around Manhattan, the story follows Anna (Peabody) as she attempts to escape the hauntings of a ghoulish sex cult. Voices of Desire is an undiscovered gem from the Something Weird vaults, and a sublime convergence of arthouse style and grindhouse thrills. Plus, the hallucinations continue with Fly Now, Pay Later—a drugged-out blast of sex-horror delirium that was made by anonymous maniacs in New York's Greenwich Village.

Carnival of Sex Souls

"Voices of Desire is rather disappointing. Aside from a few moments, the rest is mostly boring sex scenes, with the hardcore pornographic parts cut from the print used. Fly Now, Pay Later is much better, despite its dumb title. It's a film about white slavery, sadism, and includes some gore. Also worth noting among the extras is the little gem Maniac Hospital."

Outstanding release

"I love that Something Weird is partnering with AGFA (along with Distribpix & KL) for some outstanding releases. The booklet contains some always-welcome words from Lisa Petrucci along with an excellent essay by Gentry Austin. My only gripe is that my copy of the slipcase is badly misprinted: the spot UV gloss is laughably mis-registered by almost a full 3/4 inch. I know this stuff happens, but to pass this on to the consumer is an interesting call to say the least."

Stefan P. (5/5)

Very enjoyable AGFA release

"A blind buy for me, I very much enjoyed both films featured here. Great performance from Last House On The Left’s Sandra Peabody in ‘Voices of Desire’. Informative and interesting booklet and great slipcover."

Andrea M. (5/5)

An Awesome Double Feature

"Voices of Desire was pretty neat, really like the shots of 70s New York as well as the films overall creepy and unsettling atmosphere. The print is heavily damaged with green lines and other marks dancing around the screen throughout the film. Fly Now, Pay Later is a pretty mean roughie for its time; pretty neat film"

Brandon B. (5/5)

It's great to finally get

"It's great to finally get Chuck Vincent's debut picture on Blu Ray. Really trippy in that great 60s way and we get pre Last House On The Lefts's Sandra Peaboy acting her ass off in the lead role. A great commentary by Casey Scott and the other flick Fly Now, Pay Later is pretty fun too. Great purchase. AGFA never disappoints."

Bryan K. (5/5)

AGFA does it again

"Very odd and obscure surreal sexploitation films. The slip cover is vintage for AGFA fans. There’s plenty of special features along with odd lost films from the 60s and 70s. If you’re into surrealism softcore sex arthouse films, this is right up your alley."

Eric B. (5/5)

Soft porn

"Soft porn mixed in with some short 'story' sections which are almost as dull as the adult ones. As a curiosity it's interesting to look at (briefly) and it has some nice shots, but for the most part this is only going to appeal to a very niche audience. As per usual I have say I appreciate AGFA and VS restoring stuff like this, as it'd be otherwise forgotten. . . but it's just not my sort of film!"

Sam N. (3/5)

NYC '70s sexploitation with offkilter atmosphere

"The slipcover looks amazing and really ignites the feeling of rapturous desire and paranoia that are confirmed by the storyline, photography in this early film from Chuck Vincent and starring Sandra Peabody, who apparently claimed in interviews that Last House On The Left was her only film. Here she gives it her all in terms of intensity and nudity. The camera work is of very high quality, accentuating the madness that develops in the story. Another great release by AGFA!"

Tim V. (5/5)

Loved it

"Voices of Desire has that soft, moody early-80s adult melodrama feel, where the atmosphere and strange emotional tension almost matter more than the plot itself. It is sleazy, talky, and very much of its era, but there is a weird sincerity underneath that makes it more interesting than just another throwaway skin flick."

Shane P. (5/5)

Recovered Softcore Horror

"Both films are decent, with Voices standing out as my favorite. Each have a sluggish pace that drags at times. The restoration looks good, giving the films the atmosphere of rediscovered, long-lost works."
