Description

An American expat joins a team of experts searching an abandoned Austrian farmhouse for historical Nazi documents that may be hidden within it. However, when they discover a secret buried deep in the home's bowels, the team is forced to confront an ancient, insatiable evil intent on consuming them and everything they hold dear.

Directed by boundary-pushing filmmaker and actor Johannes Grenzfurthner (MASKING THRESHOLD), Solvent is a "horror odyssey that takes us down a path of madness and refuses to let us go" (Alejandro Turdó, Hoy Sale Cine).

    I thought I would enjoy

I thought I would enjoy this but it only got more grating the longer it went on, becoming obnoxious enough that by the time it ended I just didn't care. The cornball voiceover, spazzy editing, and nonsense of a plot just didn't click for me on an aesthetic level, no matter whatever real-world metaphors it was speaking for.

    Sign of the times

It's there if you're watching. Very forgettable. Nice package. The filmmakers are lucky that Vin Syn produced such a nice release.
