Escaping from the brain-baked wasteland of Texas and the wasteland-brain of wildman producer Whit Boyd, DRACULA (THE DIRTY OLD MAN) is the movie that Bram Stoker's estate doesn't want you to see. The deranged story follows Dracula and his faithful werewolf servant Irving Jackalman as they unleash a reign of psychosexual terror upon humankind. But that's only half the story. The movie's original soundtrack was discarded and replaced with voices and narration that were clearly improvised. The result is what might have happened if an episode of DARK SHADOWS was hijacked by Russ Meyer, then dubbed by a Borscht Belt comedian from Mars. AGFA + Something Weird have assembled a fangtastic tribute to this outsider spectacle, complete with two versions of the film and extras that are a bite for sore eyes.

"Well, considering the product, audiovisual qualities are probably as best as they can be. The slipcover looks very cool, though. As for the film, if sexy time Dracula, grotty surroundings and a dime store wolf mask monster sound like your kind of thing, come on in! With an extra bonus film and alternate version of the film itself, it's again quite the stacked release."

"The artwork on the cover gives you a taste of what's to come in this campy romp! The presentation is very appropriate for what you are about to experience when the film kicks off! It is a fun time from beginning to end, and is a really interesting, new twist on the endless Dracula movies. The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! "A movie that had little promise and somehow delivered less. Its isn't scary, funny, or even sexy, a movie that's only contribution is as a warning of the danger of studio control. The work in preserving it is commendable, but I wouldn't consider this a particularly good bad movie."
