A modern period piece giallo, set in the 70's, about a sound man working on a giallo film.
Very well done meta arthouse horror with weird and creepy ambiance and visuals.
At the beginning, the basic plot starts off similar to Evil Ed, but replaces the camp with a more serious, darker tone, and forgoes the gore in favor of the main character falling into a nightmarish psychosis, unsure of what is or isn't real.
I'd recommend streaming first, as this type of film isn't for everyone, but I definitely liked it.

This film has wonderful performances from the cast, and centers on an audio engineer hired to do the sound mix for an Italian horror film. There are elements of psychological tension as well as comedy. Fun dive into the world of sound effects. Plenty of on disc extras. My copy came with a slipcover and sleeve with nifty artwork.

My favorite Strickland film.

A hypnotic psychological thriller that turns sound design into the main character. Toby Jones is outstanding, and the film perfectly captures the eerie world of vintage Italian horror production. The soundtrack and restoration are exceptional.
