This is one of the releases I've been waiting for since the 80's when I 1st got it on VHS before going OOP for many years. 4K is stunning, but the digital Blu Ray 3D Disc is the icing on the cake. I always had to hear 2nd hand what it was like to see it in 3D back during its original grindhouse theatrical release. It even has a red/cyan anaglyph 3D version as well. Other recent Blu Ray releases didn't have the 3D version or Region B. Vinegar Syndrome is going to be my go to for cult movies. I had heard of them and got a couple of their movies from Amazon, but didn't think much of it until Amazon wanted $125+ for this release, implying it may be going out of print. I decided to research & found it directly on the Vinegar Syndrome website for $42.99! and plenty in stock. After Browsing their titles, I am compiling a wish list from their site.

Movie:
A little slow, but nonetheless very compelling. The visuals are gorgeous. Although I wasn't able to get the 3D working for me (the kind w/ the red/blue glasses), it was still amusing to see the scenes clearly designed to pop out of the screen. Udo Kier was giving me some Tommy Wiseau vibes (but in a good way).
Extras:
Absolutely packed to the gills with extras, with a lot of neat things to learn.

The crowned jewel of this last sale. A small batch were made available on day one and I was able to nab it. I’ve seen this in the wild and never picked it up. So glad I did now.

I first saw this film at an old theater in my neighborhood back in the mid 80s. Being a fan of Udo Keir I was excited to finally get to see this flick. The print shown was ok and it wasn’t the uncut version. Vinegar Syndrome went all out on this release. Print quality is excellent, they include both the R and X versions & a very nice anaglyph 3D version with Frankenstein branded 3D glasses. Nice set with 2 slipcovers housed in a hard slipcase. Included are a bunch on new ans archival extras. I recommend you grab one before they are gone.
