John is just an average man working as a sound technician for a New York City news station, until one day his pregnant wife is brutally murdered while witnessing the kidnapping of a young woman in broad daylight. Turning to the police for help, John soon learns that the city is overrun with crime and the police are too busy to help. Dressing as a white ninja, John takes to the streets as a sword wielding vigilante hell bent on cleaning up the streets of the city he once loved by ridding it of muggers, pickpockets, rapists, and gang members. However, in John’s quest for justice, he soon finds himself the target of every criminal in the city, including a mysterious villain known only as the Plutonium Killer. Will John survive to become the hero that New York City so desperately needs?
Originally directed by and starring martial arts actor John Liu (The Secret Rivals, Invincible Armor) in his only American production, New York Ninja was filmed entirely on 35mm in 1984, but the project was abandoned during production resulting in all original sound materials being lost over time. 35 years later, Vinegar Syndrome acquired the original unedited camera negative and painstakingly constructed and completed the film. Enlisting the voice talents of genre favorites: Don “The Dragon” Wilson (Bloodfist, Whatever It Takes), Linnea Quigley (Return of the Living Dead, Nightmare Sisters), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, Auntie Lee’s Meat Pies), Vince Murdocco (Night Hunter, LA Wars), Matt Mitler (The Mutilator, Battle for the Lost Planet), Leon Isaac Kennedy (Lone Wolf McQuade, Penitentiary), Ginger Lynn Allen (The Devil’s Rejects, Vice Academy), and Cynthia Rothrock (China O’Brien, Martial Law) Vinegar Syndrome Pictures is extremely proud to present this truly one of kind film experience. Restored in 4K from the original camera elements, New York Ninja is finally available in all of its ridiculous over-the-top glory for the first time ever after spending nearly four decades in film obscurity.

Reviews
A martial arts comedy for the ages!!
"Man, I took a long time to get this film, and I don't even know why I did this. New York Ninja is so damn fun. It feels like a "brother movie" to Miami Connection. Watching these two back to back was the best thing I could have done. For real, a must buy with a bunch of great extras."
— GILBERTO C. (5/5)
Roller-skating ninja!!
"Considering this was an unfinished 1984 film, the presentation was remarkable. Loved the voice actors used, and the banging score. A really bonkers flick with top notch restoration."
— Patrick D. (5/5)
New York Ninja Kicks A**
"Great multiple genre flick. Assassins, Kung Fu, Revenge and Vigilante. They're all there with a great score and cool extras. I appreciate VS for recreating this movie with great voice actors and I hope they make more going forward"
— Derek V. (4/5)
Against the Ninja!
"Still a wild achievement to spin this together out of nothing. Fun piece of history given new life by VS"
— Tyler M. (5/5)
Enter the Remedial Ninja
"I had a lot of fun with this movie. It makes Enter the Ninja look like Enter the Dragon. My only issue is that I wish I didn't know the story of how it was finished before watching it. It does take a little off the finished product when you realize that, while it was bad, some of it can be contributed to how it was compiled."

I <3 NY Ninja!
"I really enjoyed this feature! A great history of forgotten film and passion brings it back to life rather convincingly. Its great transer quality, great soundtrack, and has such a great energy to it. Thank you Vinegar Syndrome happy with my purchase!!!!!!!!!!"

Serious never seen before 80's footage
"It's amazing that Vinegar Syndrome found these old reels and the work they did to put a whole new film together without a script. All the work would deserve 5 stars but I have to be honest and reduce it because even the film is fun most of the time, there is no sensible plot in it. You get all the 80's action movie bits you long for, but the story doesn't walk you through as well as it could. Best part is to see footage from the 80's New York and the baddies :)"

Great work VS
"Great restoration"

I Give A Lot of Credit To Vinegar Syndrome But That's About It
"The only thing really worth saying about this film is the effort, while commendable and representative of the yeoman's work they do, is ultimately wasted on a "lost" film that, well, should have stayed lost. From watching the final product, it's quite why it was lost for so long. The acting, writing, and overall execution are hamfisted, and amateurish at best."

We all love NY Ninja
"A fun 80’s ninja movie rescued from oblivion. It’s not the best movie of its kind but even getting to see it at all feels like a gift. It’s a remarkable achievement from Vinegar syndrome. I can’t wait for LA Ninja! But the story behind this release just may actually be the most interesting part. Check out the documentary on the disc which is a real eye opener. I wonder how many more of these lost gems are out there waiting to be discovered."
