When his brother June Bug winds up dead under mysterious, jewelry-related circumstances, Army Sergeant Jack Spade returns to his city to find out what really happened. Finding his family harassed by flunkies for the local crime lord, Mr. Big, Jack turns to the legendary neighborhood hero of his youth, John Slade, for help in avenging his brother. It's going to take more than one local hero to get the neighborhood cleaned up, but luckily Slade's old ass-kicking pals Hammer, Slammer, Flyguy, and Kung Fu Joe are all eager to help. That is, if Jack can just stop his Mama from doing the fighting for him.
An affectionate, sharp send-up of Blaxploitation, I'M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA marked the directorial debut of Keenen Ivory Wayans (Scary Movie). Wayans both wrote and starred in the lead role alongside his talented siblings, all of whom went on to the groundbreaking sketch comedy show In Living Color. Boasting a sprawling cast including genre icons Bernie Casey (Cleopatra Jones, In The Mouth of Madness), Jim Brown (Three the Hard Way, The Running Man), Isaac Hayes (Truck Turner), and Antonio Fargas (Shaft), the film updated themes towards a new generation's aesthetics, including a soundtrack featuring KRS-One, The Gap Band, Curtis Mayfield, and Fishbone. Vinegar Syndrome Ultra is proud to bring you this gold-plated cult action/comedy in 4K UHD via a new scan of its original camera negative.

One of the year's great home-media surprises!
"I'm Gonna Get You Sucka is one of the great comedies of the 1980s - it is to blaxploitation cinema what Airplane was to disaster films, and it's just as hilarious. But I'd never assumed it would get as stunning a 4K debut as Vinegar Syndrome has given it. It looks like a new film, and it makes you realize what a great craftsman Keenan Ivory Wayans was. And the bonus features are wonderful and extensive!"

SUCKA
"Iconic soundtrack, star-studded cast of genre darlings, and enough intentional puns and parodies to make any exploitation film fan point at the screen and cackle with laughter from start to finish. I'm Gonna Get You Sucka was the debut film from Keenan Wayans and surprisingly, the only from him I had yet to see. I loved it! "That's my theme music. Every good hero should have some. ""

A film for the ages
"Quality transfer held in a sexy VSU line box. This flick was my first experience with spoofs as a young lad. Must have been around 1990 when I was 10 the first time I saw it. Even though I hadn't seen any films it spoofed I still enjoyed it. Hopefully they give the same treatment to another film " Repossessed" someday."

Better than ever!!
"I LOVED this movie growing up- it kicked butt in the 80’s/90’s and it kicks even more butt now thanks to VS!!! The presentation is all around gorgeous, beautiful case and transfer, folks you can not go wrong with this one, trust me- just do it if you’re on the fence."

Good For What It Is
"One of those comedies that you can acknowledge as clever/funny without ever actually laughing at it. I like the cast, I like the premise, and the execution isn't bad, but parody films have never been my cup of tea. I love the kinds of films it parodies though, so I appreciated what it was going for. At the very least the deluxe packaging looks amazing on my shelf and there were a some good special features on the disc."

Blaxploitation Parody at Its Finest
"A funny directorial debut from Keenen, backed by a cast of familiar faces. If you're a fan of the Wayans brothers' comedies or blaxploitation films, this spoof is an essential watch. VSU's packaging is always top-notch."
— Noel H. (5/5)
"Gorgeous box set. Love the magnetic closure. Reversible art on the 4k case and loved the slipcover as well. With a nice book stacked on top, this is a nice overall presentation for a classic comedy i grew up with. Adding the protective sleeve was a no brainer. 4k is just ok, but its a retro movie, colors pop though. Great addition to my collection. Cant wait to get more Vinegar Syndrome."

A must have
"Not many films I have bought on 4 formats and this is one of them. Looks amazing and sounds better than it ever has. The extras are fairly robust and are all worth watching. Really enjoyed the ones with various members of the cast. | The packaging was stupendous. The magnet closure on the outerbox is a nice touch, along with the ribbon that helps you gett the discs and booklet out easy. Loved the art on the packaging. Nice way to reference the film without really spoiling anything"

One rib and one great UHD
"I'M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA (1988) arrived two years before Keenen Ivory Wayans created the wildly popular television show IN LIVING COLOR (1990–1994), which would utilize some of the same talented players in larger roles (including Keenen's many siblings). Writer/director/star Wayans assembled an array of blaxploitation veterans for SUCKA, his loving parody of the genre, including Bernie Casey, Antonio Fargas, Isaac Hayes, and Jim Brown. There are some humorous appearances by other future stars in bit parts as well, including David Alan Grier, and, in particular, Chris Rock. Wayans was clearly influenced by the comedy stylings of writer/directors Jim Abrahams and brothers David and Jerry Zucker (of AIRPLANE! (1980) and TOP SECRET! (1984) fame), as he employs many of the same types of (often repetitive) gags (IGGYS was coincidentally released the same year as THE NAKED GUN). Mel Brooks was likely an inspiration as well. Not all the jokes land, but SUCKA is still a pretty funny film overall and fun to revisit every so often."
