Presented in partnership with Something Weird Video...
The American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) represents the world's largest theatrical catalog of exploitation cinema. Their home video line presents a diverse selection of movies, ranging from new preservations of classics from the vast library of Something Weird to the wildest in shot-on-video (SOV) titles. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!
THE MONSTER OF CAMP SUNSHINE: Shot by anonymous maniacs in New York, this is a trash-art berserker that feels like what would happen if a 1980s slasher was teleported inside of a 1960s nudist film. A nurse and fashion model head to Camp Sunshine for a weekend of fun, sun, and cigarettes. But little do they know that Hugo, the camp’s gardener, has been transformed into an axe-wielding psychopath after drinking radioactive water! Combining experimental visuals with camp flair, this is a crackpot time capsule featuring Monty Python-esque animation, someone named Ron Cheney, Jr., and, at the end, "a brief summary of the movie for those who wish to relive its magic moments."
HONEYMOON OF TERROR: An early dreamscape from director Peter Perry (MY TALE IS HOT), HONEYMOON OF TERROR (aka ECSTACY ON LOVERS’ ISLAND) is a moody mash-up of horror chills and nudie thrills that feels like a Looney Tunes cartoon made for adults. Frank and Marion are newlyweds who embark on their honeymoon to Thunder Island, only to run afoul of a psychotic, club-footed lumberjack with a lust for violence!

"Love the slipcover artwork. The transfer is great also."
"The artwork on the slipcover was very cool and the photography throughout these awesome flicks, especially the in the mountains was really well done! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"
"Very fun release. Camp Sunshine is by far the best, but Honeymoon of Terror is kind of fun. All Men Are Apes is pretty poor, but the last 10 minutes are worth it. Love the packaging."
"Love these something weird releases. The quality is excellent. The slip covers are beautiful. Really the entire package is just perfect. Watching these old clips really takes me back to the old BHS days with something weird label. Highly recommended if you like being set or slightly off bizarre or surreal. Two for one with the release. Make sure you order slipcover."
"From the killer slipcover to the ridiculous stories, I'm always happy to grab an AGFA release. I can't wait to get into this one but from the way it looks, it'll be full of camp and excitement! If I see AGFA and Something Weird, it's pretty unlikely I can pass it up."
"The Monster of Camp Sunshine is fun, and baffling at times. Beautifully shot little nudist flick, with some impressive sets… and rats! Honeymoon of Terror is not as fun, but has its moments. Both films look great and there is a bonus 3rd film in this package, along with a trailer compilation."
"Both films are cheap, strange, and full of that odd exploitation charm. Non-sense plot but I love the filmography of the mountains and wilds."
"Another deep dive from something weird, love all of their releases! Can’t wait to see how wild this one gets"
"These movies certainly interesting. They’re pretty mediocre, but also historical artifacts in a way."
"When they do, it's never bad, just not something up my alley. THIS is so campy, it's right up my alley LOL!"
