Evil corporations have smuggled a deadly strain of South American killer bees into the United States and now the entire world may be on the brink of imminent destruction! As cities tumble, body counts rise, and mass hysteria ensues, scientist John Norman (John Saxon) thinks he might have discovered the secret strategy to stop THE BEES!

Reviews

Fun Presentation and Great Artwork

"A fun cult release with a very entertaining presentation and a great vintage look. The artwork is excellent and really adds to the overall appeal of the package. The film itself has plenty of charm, and the disc presents it well. A solid pickup for collectors."

Thomas L. (4/5)

Another Deadly Creature Thriller

"It is very simple, I see John Saxon's in the credits, I purchase another blu ray. Glad I did, this restoration was beautiful."

Zakaria S. (4/5)

The Bee Movie

"Low budget chaos, awkward acting, weird pacing, and killer bees that somehow feel both threatening and kind of hilarious. It never quite works as real horror, but that’s part of the fun."

Tyler S. (4/5)

A Campy Eco-Horror with a Strong Transfer

"The Bees is a fun piece of eco-horror that fully embraces its late 70s charm. The story plays out like a classic nature-gone-wrong scenario, with a mix of suspense, camp, and unintentionally funny moments that make it an entertaining watch even when it gets over the top. The looks are solid on this release. Colors feel natural, and the image has a clean, filmic quality that preserves the era’s style without looking overly processed. It’s a noticeable improvement that makes the film easier to appreciate. The transfer quality is strong, with stable detail and good contrast throughout. It respects the original source while giving it a clear upgrade for modern viewing. Overall, this is a well-presented release of a quirky cult favorite that’s best enjoyed for its mix of tension and campy fun."

Tim L. (5/5)

"Worth it unless you’re nic cage who has ptsd from all those bees in the wicker man"

Derick M. (5/5)

Classic '70s bee flick!

"John Carradine and John Saxon! The Beeeeeeeeeesss!!!!!"

Bryan B. (4/5)

Beeeees

"It's cheesy '70s eco-horror with dumb plot, bad science, but tons of bee attack chaos and laughs. The transfer looks great, sharp and colorful. Solid release, if you love these nature-gone-wild flicks."

CHAN T. (4/5)

Really Fun Throwback Flick!

"I really lived this film back in the day, but as was often the case it never looked or sounded very good. This presentation was very well done, and I loved the animation as well! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

Paul K. (5/5)

The Bees

"I can't defend this as a good movie, but I'll be damned if it isn't incredibly interesting and stuck with me long after viewing. Just enjoy the ride 🤷‍♂️"
