Ted Bundy

Bundy is fun watch, While grim and dark in places, this things sprinkles so much random humor in places it makes watching that much more interesting. Ive watched this numerous times and still enjoy, glad VS took the time and money to restore this video store staple which previously only had a sub standard dvd release-- Great Packaging and slipcover as well

Ted Bundy is a strange one because Matthew Bright doesn’t really approach it like a respectable prestige biopic. It feels more like a nasty early-2000s exploitation movie, and honestly that’s probably why it worked for me. Michael Reilly Burke gives Bundy this weirdly charming, pathetic, and unsettling energy that makes him hard to look away from, even when the movie gets incredibly ugly.

It definitely goes for shock value, but the grimy tone, mean streak, and Tom Savini gore effects give it a personality that separates it from the usual true-crime stuff. It’s not subtle at all, and I wouldn’t call it tasteful, but it commits to what it is.

The Blu-ray is a big upgrade too. The restoration has strong detail, healthy film grain, and a natural look without trying to make a 2002 movie look overly slick. The VSA packaging is killer as well — that VHS-style slipcase is exactly the kind of ridiculous physical-media presentation I’m here for.

Messy? Absolutely. Kind of trashy? Oh yeah. But as a piece of dark exploitation cinema, I had a good time with it. 😁

It's a true to form tramsgressive take on a familiar story. A presentation you cannot get anywhere other than this fantastic release. The slip is sinister and sets the tone for this midnight flick.

The Story of Ted Bundy doesn't need much explanation, this a decent movie based on the well known story.

Genuinely upsetting
