Presented in partnership with Something Weird Video...

The American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) represents the world's largest theatrical catalog of exploitation cinema. Their home video line presents a diverse selection of movies, ranging from new preservations of classics from the vast library of Something Weird to the wildest in shot-on-video (SOV) titles. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

Made by one-and-done filmmakers in the shadows of Tampa, SATAN’S CHILDREN feels like an Afterschool Special from depths of hell . . . literally. Bobby is a troubled teen with problems. After deflecting his father’s insults and his stepsister’s come-ons, Bobby unknowingly ends up at a gay bar. Before long, he’s assaulted by four guys in the back seat of a car. With nowhere else to turn, Bobby joins a cult of Satanists to enact his murderous revenge. A truly deranged gut-punch, this is a gritty and baffling horror experience that could have only happened in Florida. AGFA + Something Weird are thrilled to present a 2K preservation of SATAN’S CHILDREN from the only known 35mm theatrical print in existence.

Reviews

Entertaining horror

"This horror release looks and sounds great. The story centers around a young man who gets assaulted and then taken in by a friendly group of satanists. Comes with a handful of extras and nifty artwork on slip and sleeve."

Kresh R. (3/5)

The Devil Went Down to Florida

"Grimy low budget horror exploitation. Likely influenced by The Manson murders. No nudity though, except a small amount of male nudity. The Florida locations add to the experience. Loads of extras. I dig it!"

Kevin B. (5/5)

“You’re weak. You’re a loser. Satan wants winners. ”

"I first stumbled across this gem via Something Weird's videotape. I've since acquired it on SWV DVD (paired w/the awesome ASYLUM OF SATAN) & more than one BD. A regional satanic cult film that wants to warn about the dangers of gays while feeling a little gay itself. Great stuff! The psyched out cartoon short is awesome."

Isaac W. (5/5)

Not for me

"One of the longest 87 minute movies I've watched. I was attracted to this one because of some choice bits of dialogue I've heard sampled in podcasts ("Go to hell! Go to hell! Go the Jesus H. Christ HELLLLLL!"), and sadly that was just about the only entertaining thing in the whole movie. If you cut out all the fluff and only kept the "story," I suspect you'd wind up with something like 35 minutes."

Harper H. (2/5)

"Quckly shipped and arrived exactly as advertised!"

Jose (5/5)

An odd one

"Very strange indie/exploitation film from Florida of all places about a young man who gets involved with Satanism. Very awkward watch but I can't say I wasn't amused. The Boys Beware bonus short is a good complement."

Zakaria S. (4/5)

Such a great release! Love

"Such a great release! Love me some Satanists! Great material extras and sorry I missed the slipcase."

1975 Homophobic Cult Scare

"This movie is absolutely crazy! I couldn't look away. It's one of the best Vinegar Syndrome releases and includes interesting extras to boot."

Alex B. (5/5)

What does Satan want?

"The description of this being like an "afterschool special from Hell" is apt. Melodramatic acting, odd pacing, aggressively '70s synths, and, most of all, somewhat confusing motivations. An oddball regional feature for sure! Also some prime Satanic Panic material. This is peak AGFA/SWV right here!"

James G. (5/5)

Bizarre Exploitation Nightmare

"This is a fascinating and flawed exploitation film that puts you through a rough ride. The extra shorts and features make this a well worth buy."
