Reviews

Zeer goede ervaring!

"Besteld vanuit België, alles is zeer goed verlopen. Duidelijke opvolging van het pakketje, goede communicatie. Koerier Fedex belde de op om te laten weten dat hij onderweg was. TOP!"

Music Docs Are ALWAYS Worth The Watch

"This time capsule of garage rock contains even more than it looks like. High quality music docs like these aren't the rarest thing, but man, are they always worth the watch. If you're on the fence with this one, I'd lean in."

Jake B. (5/5)

She Loves It!

"Energy visuals order - This was actually a purchase as a gift to my Brother’s wife so I cannot give this film the proper review it deserves. I will say that the time period I love I was in high school around then. I know she loved it so that’s all that matters to me. I would buy my own copy but since VS won’t let customers buy more than copy because of low-life scalpers I wouldn’t run into that issue. I’m sure it’s a really good documentary. 😉"

Flashes of humor and candor

"Hard to fault any film for trying, but it’s tough to squeeze such sprawling material into 105 minutes without losing the thread. This doc feels both frustrating and inessential, more a mythologizing of early-2000s New York bands than a real examination of what made them matter. Structurally, it drags. Forty minutes in James Murphy appears, suddenly the avatar for the film’s bland lack of self-awareness, and there is still an hour left of hagiography. Karen O’s vulnerability is glossed over while Ryan Adams gets endless scenes, his baggage ignored. The 9/11 context is handled bluntly, with mumbling interviews over shocking footage, and the concert clips are cut to album tracks until they lose their energy. Worst of all, the faceless filler score makes it feel like the filmmakers did not even trust the music at the center."

Meet Me in the Bathroom

"As someone who lived through this music scene and loved it, this is pure nostalgia for me, but also a great look at a time when indie rock music was exciting again. And as always, excellent packaging and quality slip cover"

Mark M. (5/5)

"Such a great watch! I wish i got to experience this “scene”. Growing up in Queens, i wanted to be in the city and to hear it was this close to my home town"

Daniel (5/5)

Excellent documentary!

"I recommend reading the book too! The footage they were able to get for the documentary is amazing! The moments captured make you feel like you are there. Must watch for gen X and millennials."
