Intro to the film with Natasha Kermani and Brea Grant
Booklet with new writing by film critic Lindsay Hallam
"This film really didn't speak to me. I am a man so I could not relate to what this woman goes through in the film. It's kind of like a take on Happy Death Day with a message. I appreciate what it is trying to say and the artistry behind it, though."
— Nathan L. (3/5)
Great Flick!
"The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

Yeah, Most Men. . .
"At the heighth of Me Too, a male celebrity whose name I can't, nor care to remember tweeted out “It's been a scary year for men. ” The plucky and delightful Heather Matarazzo replied “It's been a horrifying eternity for women. ” This exchange perfectly describes privileged male obliviousness and the darkened parking garage of a woman’s daily existence. It's also the engine that drives Lucky, written by and starring indie horror stalwart Brea Grant. Time loop horror isn't exactly a new subgenre. Notable examples include Happy Death Day, Timecrimes, Triangle and 2004’s underseen Salvage. (VinSyn necromancers, please resurrect this one!) With director Natasha Kermani behind the camera, Grant breathes new feminist life into the trope of the infinite stalker, a trope that plays perfectly to Grant’s thesis: Being female and alive on Planet Earth is a waking nightmare and a banal slog. Some will grouse that the premise is too on the nose. Some will find the final twist at the end an infuriating cop-out. Grant doesn't care about giving you blue balls. And she doesn't need you to walk her to the door. Shudder once again delivers a solid package. The slip–limited to 500 and unfortunately sold out–is thoughtfully designed and compliments the original poster art beautifully. Lindsay Hallam contributes a written essay that further explores Lucky’s themes. Aside from an introduction and audio commentary from Kermani and Grant, that's it for the extras but that's a minor quibble for a viewing experience that leaves so much to reflect upon. Now one more shameless request to acquisitions: Psst! Torn Hearts…"
