This is the listing for the standard edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo. The limited edition slipcover was limited to 4,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.
American family Elliot and Marilyn Wade, along with their young children Jessica and Jimmy, have just relocated to Mexico, where Elliot has taken over a doll factory. As they settle into their fresh surroundings, Jessica forms a special bond with her new doll, spending hours with it in her large playhouse. But soon, her mother and older brother sense that something isn't quite right with the sweetly faced toy. It's not long before strange and frightening events start to occur, and members of the household begin turning up dead in a series of apparent 'accidents’.
The sole horror feature directed by veteran exploitation crew-woman and actress, Maria Lease, and produced by Dan Cady (Grave of the Vampire), DOLLY DEAREST, takes a thematic nod from Child's Play while upping the weirdness. Starring Denise Crosby (Pet Sematary), Sam Bottoms (Apocalypse Now), and featuring a memorable supporting performance from Rip Torn (Men in Black), Vinegar Syndrome brings this early 90s cult favorite to Blu-ray for the very first time, in a brand new 2K restoration.

"Really entertaining killer doll horror flick from VS! Great looking transfer and plenty of extra features! 4/5 stars!"
"Synopsis: In Mexico, an ancient Sanzian site is being excavated when the door blows off a hidden room, killing an archaeologist, and a mysterious malevolent Devil Child spirit inhabits a doll at a nearby abandoned factory. The Wholesome American Wade family buys the factory with plans of becoming expert manufacturers. Little Jessica Wade, who misses all her friends back home, takes a possessed doll and her mother Marilyn notices an immediate change in her daughter's behavior. To make things worse, locals start dying around the Wade family until they team up with archeologist Karl Resnick to get Jessica back to normal before it is too late. Review: The doll effects are actually not that bad but Dolly Dearest is too sporadic with the kills. The child acting is quite decent but the grown ups ham it up too much, especially Rip Torn. Carnage Count 2/5 Sleaze Score 1/5"
"A family moves to Mexico to start a doll business and what better place to put it than next to a cemetery! Needless to say a doll gets possessed and begins to kill people. I used to watch this movie on cable back in the day quality in this Blu Ray made me feel I was watching it for the first time. It is great “Dolly Dearest” received the treatment it deserves complete with cool extra features"
"This was a fun cheesy movie that took advantage of the success of Child's Play"
"Movie was awesome."
"Not a Chucky rip off first off and looks great with this transfer and the doll is terrifying"
"Dolly Dearest has the same effect on me as the four Amityville films shot between 1989 and 1996 (also available from Vinegar Syndrome). There's a kind of comfortable pleasure in watching these films, steeped in the atmosphere of the early 90s. Those were the good old days for these video stores movies, which have a specific charm, something difficult to recreate in today's cinema. I particularly like Dolly's design, which I find very creepy at times! Vinegar Syndrome, as always, has done a remarkable job on this edition, with an excellent transfer and very interesting bonus features, Thank you!"
"I'd never heard of this CHILD'S PLAY clone. The movie's okay but the doll's creepy AF. And I've got love for any more with dialogue like: "I am not losing my daughter to a God-damned, nine-hundred-year-old goat-head!""
"Some comedic gold in this horror film. There are a few crazy moments that make the film memorable. Vinegar Syndrome did a good job with this treatment. If you like 1980's haunted horror this is a good buy."
"Killer doll flicks are gold! Disc looks good. The sound and features are top notch!"
