The desolate town of Blue Lights, which gets its name from a mysterious nightly illumination close to the graveyard, is rumored to be cursed. The origin of both the lights and curse itself have been left to legend, but rumor has it that ancient monsters roam the area and have been responsible for the countless deaths and tragedies which have afflicted nearby residents. When a group of college students decide to spend a night investigating these supernatural occurrences, they quickly find themselves in for a nasty surprise, after uncovering an ancient relic, which leads them into the terrifying subterranean layer of The Muldoon Men; giant monsters who need to ingest human corpses in order to sustain their strength...

A low-fi monster film oozing with regional charm, John Henry Johnson's Colorado lensed CURSE OF THE BLUE LIGHTS is a cheerfully entertaining and highly original take on a traditional "creature feature," enhanced by excellent practical effects and a series of wild twists and surprises. Vinegar Syndrome is pleased to finally bring this late 80s, direct-to-video classic to Blu-ray, newly restored in 2K from the director's personal 16mm answer print, in its intended and director approved 1.85:1 aspect ratio for the first time, and bursting with a wide array of newly recorded interviews with cast and crew.

The blue lights have a death curse!

"Another fun movie from the code red days, this is a huge step up from the dvd and such a showcase of what VS can really do when they get their hands on a film and restore it. Love the artwork on both the slipcase and front cover. . . . . was beyond excited when this shipped because I couldn't wait to watch it again!"

Cursed Blue Lights

"Theres a lot of heart in this little showcase. Teens vs an Egyptian horror god is wrapped up in a mystery of the blue lights. Its campy and has a lot of cool make up effects. Slip cover is fun and plenty of extras cause you may have questions after this fun ride. Not the most engaging but worth a watch"

Ryan S. (4/5)

Not a cursed movie

"The packaging is spectacular as usual and this oddity is one that uou shouldn't judge solely by its absurdly great cover. Its a powerhouse showcase of grabbing that rental store vhs that turns out to be one of your childhood favorites"

Andrew H. (5/5)

Wild eighties video store fun

"Curse of the Blue Lights is like a mystical 80's rental store grail. Very wild experience and I don't think anyone could regret watching this one. The restoration triumps over the old release and makes for a worthy addition to the collection."

Drake D. (5/5)

Odd and fun as hell!!

"I had a lot of fun with Curse of the Blue Lights. The transfer looked awesome and the movie was a pretty good surprise. I will definitely watch again with my friends, this is the perfect movie to do this."

GILBERTO C. (5/5)

Christopher D. (5/5)

Fun 80s zombie cheese

"Great VS zombie oddity from the 80s. Fantastic artwork and slipcase. 4/5 stars!"

Stephen H. (4/5)

Atmospheric and gory monster/zombie mayhem

"Well, I always think that moving into the digital age made it harder for very low budget horror movies to shine through. Yes, this has very bad acting. But the 16mm photography layers over a thick greasy atmosphere that greatly enhances the film experience. Make-up and special effects are top notch here. I don't want to see how this looked on VHS but the upgrade here is excellent. Seeing the cover art, I could immediately transport me to a simpler time when seeing it on the shelves would make me smile and dream."

Curse of the Blue Lights

"Solid but little boring"
