          Asia is a goddess

"Boarding Gate by Olivier Assayas is a slick, paranoid thriller that mixes corporate espionage, crime, and psychological tension into something stylish and unpredictable. The atmosphere and cinematography are fantastic throughout, and the film really benefits from Assayas’ ability to make even chaotic situations feel hypnotic and cool."

          Shane P. (5/5)

          A Frenetic Movie

"A highly disjointed, erotically, emotionally, and sexually charged movie that defies analysis, but it has one huge plus: it stars Asia Argento. A nicely transferred movie (much better than streaming) that has Asia Argento (who looks great at 50) in a nearly 30 minute interview probably shot in 2025."

          Carl L. (4/5)

          Assayas thriller

"“Boarding Gate” is a sleek but uneven neo‑noir thriller elevated by Asia Argento’s intense performance, even as its pacing and narrative focus divide critics. Olivier Assayas’ 2007 film follows Sandra, an ex‑prostitute entangled with a volatile former lover (Michael Madsen) and a dangerous Hong Kong power couple. The story moves between sexual manipulation, corporate intrigue, and underworld violence, creating a moody, globe‑trotting thriller."

          Tarek E. (3/5)

          Great Asia Argento thriller

"VinSyn and partner labels continuing quest to release every Asia Argento movie. This is one of the better known ones I think. I've had the DVD for 15 or 20 years. It, like this release, has some eye catching visuals on it. It is not as salacious as the art would suggest. Some exploitation content but not as much as you'd expect. A decent little thriller with great cast, mostly in English which is a plus for me. A great interview with Asia is the best of the extras. I've long been a fan so it's nice to see her getting her due with this string of releases. Recommended."

          Ed K. (5/5)

          Boarding Gate

"Boarding Gate was a decent thriller that did have me entertained the entire watch. While I’m not always into thrillers this one kept my attention and had entertainment values that make it well worth a purchase. Packaging and presentation are great!"

          Matt R. (5/5)

          Uber cast

"Asia, Michael, and even the great Kim Gordon. . . an absolute must buy. Great thriller, great transfer, and great packaging."

          Jakob P. (5/5)

          Slow burn Asia Argento

"A little arty in style and annoyingly some dialogue is hard to understand due to almost whispering/mumbling delivery Love the artwork for the slipcover"

          KEVIN S. (4/5)

          Liminal Capitalism Drift

"Set against a haze of globalized alienation, it moves through Paris and Hong Kong like a network of empty corridors, anchored by a career-defining performance from Asia Argento, whose physical, unsettled presence holds the film together even as the narrative slips away. The result is less a conventional story than a cool, disorienting state of being."

          Mitchell C. (5/5)

          Boarding Gate

"Boarding Gate (2007), directed by Olivier Assayas and starring Asia Argento, is a sleek but deliberately disorienting blend of erotic thriller and corporate espionage that thrives on mood more than clarity. The film follows a former sex worker entangled in a web of manipulation, murder, and shifting allegiances, but Assayas resists straightforward storytelling, instead letting scenes unfold in long, tense stretches of conversation and sudden bursts of violence. Argento anchors the film with a volatile, unpredictable performance that keeps the viewer off-balance, even when the narrative becomes opaque. Set against a transient, globalized backdrop that moves from Europe to Hong Kong, the film captures a sense of rootlessness and moral ambiguity that mirrors its characters. It’s uneven and occasionally frustrating, but its raw energy and refusal to simplify make it a compelling, if elusive, entry in Assayas’s filmography."
