Sardu, with the help of his dwarf servant Ralphus, operates New York’s most controversial theatre, Sardu's Theatre of the Macabre, where each performance is an expertly staged display of gruesome acts of torture. Divisive as his take on “entertainment” might be, arrogant theatre critic, Creasy Silo, is having none of it and makes it his mission to put an end to Sardu’s grisly “dramas.” However, what audiences and critics alike do not realize is that each of these shocking shows is completely real; with innocent nude women being maimed and murdered live on stage! When Sardu sets his eyes on beautiful ballerina Natasha, he’s immediately smitten and determines that she must “star” in his next production, whether she wants to or not, and that her stage partner will be none other than Creasy Silo…
A foundational film in establishing legendary genre cinema distributor, Troma Entertainment, Joel M. Reed’s masterpiece of gore-fueled debauchery, BLOOD SUCKING FREAKS (aka Sardu, Master of the Screaming Virgins), remains one of the most notorious, disgusting, shocking, perverse, and outrageously funny cult horror films to emerge from the sick and twisted 1970s. Starring acclaimed Shakespearian actor, Seamus O’Brien as the fiendish Sardu and Luis De Jesus (Let My Puppets Come) as the equally deranged Ralphus, and featuring a host of New York’s top sex starlets as the demented duo's assorted victims, Vinegar Syndrome is thrilled to present the world 4K UHD debut of the fully uncut version of BLOOD SUCKING FREAKS, exclusively restored from the best surviving film elements and presented with a consummate selection of extras.

Reviews
All time classic! Had the
"All time classic! Had the Troma VHS back in high school (~’01), so I’m glad to have this back in my collection looking better than ever! Unfortunately the reversible magnetic slipcase doesn’t work all that well in reversed mode (comes apart at the edge when plastic case is inserted), but still an overall nice and rigid feel."
— Jeff W. (5/5)
Classy release for a classy movie
"The presentation is top notch. The actual production maybe not so much but it's entertaining trash especially if you like your tits with a thin film of grime on them"
— Jared F. (3/5)
Great transfer of cult classic that borders on bizarre
"Satisfying transfer to 4k of this cult classic buzzaro dream like show of real macabre that outside audiences believe as tricks. Also great features added."
— Timothy D. (5/5)
Not for polite company
"Not sure what I was expecting when I picked this up, but this wasn’t it - Lives up to its legendary reputation by being completely tasteless and impossible to look away from. Not my cup of… blood, but Vinegar Syndrome has made an awesome release."
— Paul C. (3/5)
Freaks Come Out At The Drive-In
"What can I say? It's Bloodsucking Freaks! It looks and sounds fantastic. Plus there is a featurette shot by Michael Gingold shot at the Mahoning Drive-In during Tromathon!"
— Thomas S. (5/5)
Still shocks today
"Super grim and shocking exploitation movie that still works today. The quality is stunning on this release."
— Damon H. (5/5)
Infamous Troma shocker
"I remember this film from my early days. First watched it on VHS when I had rented it and then got a Dutch DVD. They were all uncut, as far as I know. Even then, with all the slightly goofy banter between Sardu and his assistant and other people, I always found this straddled the line from fun-gore to distasteful-gore. It's sadistic and very grim, though there is also a chipper-and-cheerful attitude to it. Basically shot in a theatre somewhere, it's a film for a specific audience. I never would have thought this would receive a 4K version. It looks amazing, shedding earlier releases."
— Tim V. (4/5)
Blood sucking freaks
"Great film great packaging"
— Gary M. (5/5)
Crappy dismemberment in 4K
"It's shocking, gruesome, revolting. It's exploitation in the extreme kind of way. Not really enjoyable, ridiculous at some point. It might be a classic, but it won't be one for me."
— Luc T. (3/5)
An absolute must have!
"My Favorite Release! I’ve bought this film now on VHS, DVD, Bluray and now on 4K over the years… and THIS is my favorite presentation! The blood has been restored to its natural dark red hues and the film looks fantastic. What a deluxe package too! Great extra features and the FULL UNCUT version being presented! A must have!"
— Richard M. (5/5)
