A brilliant computer scientist has just finished work on his greatest creation: a super computer with the ability to transform the personalities of bad and disobedient people. In anticipation of sharing his work with the scientific community, the scientist invites a fellow expert to test the machine on a group of debauched young women. Little does he know that his colleague intends to use the computer to turn their subjects into bloodthirsty mutants!
Made by a French crew in Florida, NIGHTMARE WEEKEND is a non-stop assault on the senses. Head explosions, gratuitous nudity and softcore sex, bikers, roller-skating, and a telepathic hand puppet named George rank NIGHTMARE WEEKEND among the weirdest and most jaw droppingly absurd horror films of the 1980s. "I can get behind a troma movie any day of the week, watching and paying close attention to most, sometimes it’s amazing to put on The Toxic Avenger or Tromeo and Juliet and get a major buzz going, but this just ultimately falls flat and becomes pornography. The restoration picture and package are all well and fine but I just did not care for it"

"This was an odd one, it was a blind buy so I wasn't too sure what to expect, and I feel like the movie wasn't sure either. The story is there, just about, and plenty is left unexplained, practical effects however were pretty decent. I opted for the non slipcover edition, not just because the slip art is awful, but also because the art on the standard is fantastic."

"Synopsis: Brilliant professor/inventor Edward Brake has created a system known as Apache that can control minds as well as inanimate objects. His agoraphobicish daughter Jessica uses the device as a video game not knowing that it can control certain items (like cars). Her Butler, which is a robotic puppet ned George uses Apache to protect Jess and the house from various ne'er-do-wells. This seemingly regular weekend of human testing for Apache turns into a NIGHTMARE WEEKEND when Edwards' deranged assistant uses it to turn 3 beautiful test subjects into killing machines. Review: This has to be in the top 10 for Non-sensical movies of all time but it does have a little charm to it. The Phantasmesque Spheres and the Puppet Robot George make Nightmare Weekend more enjoyable as do the boobs and blood. Not entirely sure I know what's going on but I know I don't absolutely hate it. It's not overly good by any stretch of the imagination but it is never boring. Carnage Count 3/5 Sleaze Score 3/5"
