"Suburban Mayhem is a nasty little blast of Australian crime comedy, built around chaos, bad choices, and a lead character who is both awful and impossible to look away from. It has a trashy tabloid energy that makes the whole thing feel messy, mean, and weirdly entertaining."
"You could consider this a very dark comedy I suppose. It's hard to sympathize with the lead given she's pretty much evil. The actress gives a charismatic performance. Not someone you really want to win, but neither is anyone else in the movie. Wanted to check this out primarily because of Mia Wasikowska. She seemed poised to be a big star with Alice in Wonderland, Crimson Peak, and Stoker. Haven't seen her in anything in quite a while. She has a pretty minor part here as someone treated horribly by the main character. Strong To Die For vibes in this one. Tons of interviews for extras. A great release of a pretty good movie."

"I first discovered this film at Blockbuster Video back in 2008 with it's very attractive video cover featuring the films' star Emily Barclay who gives this comedy - thriller mockumentary alot a fun exciting performance as a manipulative bad girl who does drugs, drinks and takes care of her baby girl all while looking sexy and being the temptation of the folks in her hometown in Australia. When her brother beheads his boss with a samuari sword, Katrina Skinner uses everything her powers to try and get his brother from going to prison and getting her own way against the press. The film is making it's US blu ray debut after being on DVD for almost 20 years by Umbrella after it was released in Australia last year with a standard and a big swag box. This time around, this features a great looking slipcase featuring a cartoon version of Barclay's character on both sides and also featuring all the special features on that excellent release. For fans of Aussie cinema, this is definitely one not to miss and this should've made a star out of Barclay but sadly wasn't yet we still have a great performance from the land of OZ to savor."
