Skateboard was the first feature film to depict the height of the 70s skateboard craze. Many refer to it as the Bad News Bears of the sport. A Hollywood agent finds himself in debt to a powerful bookie. To make a fast buck, he creates a team of exceptionally talented skateboarders and enters them in a downhill race. If they win, they will get $20,000. It’s star studded cast includes Alan Garfield, 70s teen idol Leif Garrett, skateboarding legend Tony Alva, and iconic female freestyler and member of the Skateboarding Hall of Fame Ellen O’Neal.

    Bad News Bears With Skateboards

"The reason I was interested in seeing this was because it was covered on Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avery’s podcast. The lead actor, Allen Garfield, was Quentin’s acting teacher, and he’s great in this. It’s too bad he didn’t get more comedic starring roles. Everything about this is very 70s, from the soundtrack to the fashion and slang, and that’s another big plus - I especially like the various musical montage sequences. It may be an obvious Bad News Bears imitator, but it’s got a likable cast of characters and a fun vibe to it that makes it a pretty enjoyable watch."

    Nice Skater Artifact

"I had to upgrade my VHS of Skateboard. To be honest, this movie is all nostalgia-driven for me. Takes me back to lazy weekend afternoons watching L. A. local channels like KCOP 13 and then going outside and falling off my board face first. Great times."

    Gabriel A. (3/5)

    Groovy Time Capsule on Wheels

"A charming underdog flick packed with SoCal vibes, cheesy teen drama, and infectious ’70s energy. You don’t watch Skateboard for gritty realism—you’re here for bell-bottoms, barebones plot, and vintage skate culture. The disc is crisp and the packaging is a psychedelic treat!"

    Thomas L. (4/5)

    A Classic Reborn!

"I genuinely can't give this five stars as the film itself is "only" four stars. I grew up with this on VHS and watched it over and over, so this was obviously a "must buy" when I realized it was available, and I am glad I did! It has never looked or sounded better, and it brought back so many childhood memories rewatching it today in this quality, and I am overjoyed to have purchased it. The packaging and art is great, and the extras are worthwhile. Well worth owning!"
