Since 2004, Bleeding Skull has explored otherworldly cinema through reviews, books, and home video releases. We shine a light on independent genre films that have flown under the radar but deserve to be seen by all. Fangoria has called Bleeding Skull “The go-to encyclopedia for trash, bizarre, and shot-on-video cinema,” while Vice referred to it as “like a fever dream glimpse into parallel worlds". Ninja Zombie is the hero we need right now. Shot on Super 8 film in Chicago by director Mark Bessenger, this action-horror hybrid tells the story of Jack—a young martial arts expert who is slain by evil cult leader Spithrachne, only to be resurrected as the vengeance-fueled Ninja Zombie. An explosion of high-kicking, guts-spilling splendor, Ninja Zombie lands at the intersection of 1980s Marvel Comics and The Toxic Avenger, a true Venn diagram of joy and ambition in underground filmmaking.

Great fun

"If you don't have the earlier DVD put out by AGFA, buy this immediately. It is tremendous fun and everything "do it yourself" filmmaking should be. It's a mixed bag otherwise. I was a fan and there are a few new extras. Plus I knew the slipcover would sell out fast. For other owners of the DVD, I'd only recommend it if you are a real fan. Since it's taken off a tape master, it isn't really much of a tradeup picture wise. But as a film, it is a masterpiece. Highly recommended to newcomers. Tossup if you have the earlier disc."

Missed the slip, love the disc!

"Such a fun film! I honestly hadn’t expected this release, but excited to have it! This is exactly the kind of obscure gem that keeps physical media enthusiasts engaged in the hobby. The film has never looked better, and the premium presentation makes owning it feel genuinely special. I’m sad I missed out on the slipcover, which sold out within hours."

Patrick F. (5/5)

Wild

"Ninja Zombie is exactly the kind of low-budget insanity the title promises, mixing martial arts, horror, and bargain-bin weirdness into something clumsy but oddly lovable. It is cheap, ridiculous, and barely held together, but that rough homemade energy is also what makes it fun."

Shane P. (5/5)

The title says it all

"Bleeding Skull have did it again with this bizarre this has everything from voodoo priest to a ninja zombie, terrible acting and awful music but it has some kind of weird charm to it. Yeah it bad, very bad but it’s an entertaining home grown horror."

Ninja please

"It was super romantik. Flailing weapons and sleeveless vests. I've never had a movie turn me on like this one. I'm gonna have a callous in the morning. Wish I had a Ninja Zombie towel to wipe myself down."

Matthew T. (5/5)

DIY Madness

"Exactly the kind of weird, low-budget chaos that boutique labels were made for"

Chris T. (5/5)

Another great Bleeding Skull title that rules

"I love Bleeding Skull and I trust them with both my life and my movie-watching habits. This is another great release from them!"

Michael W. (5/5)

Fun watch

"Enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. It's dumb but it's dumb fun, highly entertaining!"

Casey K. (4/5)

Positively Craptacular

"The best way to watch this is in a group setting. I was fortunate enough to see this in a theater with about 20 other folks and it was a blast!"

Nicholas T. (5/5)

"Awesome film with great slipcover and gold"
