NIGHT OF THE STRANGLER: A southern-fried whodunnit with murder, racial tension, and a starring role from The Monkees’ Micky Dolenz, this sweat-soaked sleazer feels like a cross between an American giallo and a trashy airport paperback novel.
CARNIVAL OF BLOOD: An ominous, semi-cinéma vérité horror movie that was shot at Coney Island in NYC, CARNIVAL OF BLOOD features an early role from Burt Young (ROCKY), pop-art gore that would make H.G. Lewis proud, and a gloriously seedy atmosphere.

"If you like anything that came from the vault of Something Weird Video or 70's low budget horror/exploitation, this is for you. "Carnival of Blood" is a gory and fun classic, "Night of the Strangler" is an enjoyable murder mystery, and "Help Me. . . I'm Possessed" features a mad scientist, chained girls, a hunchback, a castle in the desert, and some funny gory moments. It comes with an excellent partial commentary track featuring Bleeding Skull's Annie Choi and Joe Ziemba. The Carnival of Blood Restoration is a bit different from the SWV DVD version—less colorful—but with in 1. 85:1 full framing on your TV, this version makes you feel like you're in a grindhouse in the 70s."

Not much to recommend
"This is a set of really rough looking low budget movies only of interest to dedicated genre fans. "Help Me. . I'm Possessed" starts the trio off with a terrible and non-sensical mad doctor story. "Night of the Strangler" is an almost competent giallo inspired work that is mildly entertaining. "Carnival of Blood" brings the highlight of an early Burt Young performance in a murder thriller with a touch of gore."

The obscure cynical 70s
"Triple feature of obscure regional grime including a real feel-band weirdy from famous pornographer Leonard Kirtman. Help Me. . . I'm Possessed is my favorite of the bunch, with Kirtman's Carnival of Blood next and Night of the Strangler (starring Mickey Dolenz) last but not because it's a bad movie but because it feels a little out of place here. Well, it's not super great but it does have a good payoff. Are these rough? Yessssss. But two of the features are scanned from their only known 35mm film prints so I guess we're just lucky to have them."
