SWORN TO JUSTICE is part of our Vinegar Syndrome Archive collection, celebrating forgotten cinematic oddities from the video store era. This collection was inspired by our own brick & mortar video store chain, The Archive, with locations in Bridgeport, CT and Aurora, CO.

Unique to this line, each hand numbered limited edition release will come fitted in a specially designed, bottom loading VHS inspired slipcase, while also including a double-sided poster.

These releases will ONLY be available on our website and at participating indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them. This slipcase edition (designed by Ralf Krause) is strictly limited to 5,000 units and may (but probably not) be followed by a standard edition in the future.

Janna Dane (Cynthia Rothrock) is a criminal defense psychologist who has always followed the rule of law and fought to defend those accused of crimes, until one night she discovers that her sister and nephew have been brutally murdered by a gang of thugs in their own home. Attacked by the same criminals, Janna is able to use her martial arts training to defend herself, however, after leaping from a balcony to escape, Janna is hit on the head and rendered unconscious. Once awake, Janna discovers that the blow to her head has given her extra-sensory perception in the form of visions while touching certain objects. After her new found psychic abilities reveal that she is defending one of the thugs that killed her sister and nephew, Janna decides that she has had enough with the justice system and begins a vigilante quest to rid the streets of the criminals responsible. With the help of an author and fellow martial arts enthusiast named Nicholas (Kurt McKinney), Janna soon discovers that those responsible for her family's death may be working for some very powerful people.

Featuring a copious amount of fight scenes blended with a healthy dose of humor, SWORN TO JUSTICE stars international action movie heroine and real-life martial arts champion, Cynthia Rothrock (Undefeatable), in one of her most "revealing" roles. Featuring a strong cast of supporting actors including Brad Dourif (Child's Play), Kurt McKinney (No Retreat, No Surrender), Mako (Red Sun Rising), and Vince Murdocco (L.A. Wars), Vinegar Syndrome Archive is proud to present this quintessential slice of mid-90s late-night action, newly restored in 4k from the original camera negative.

Cynthia Rothrock at her best!

"If you love Cynthia Rothrock, you need this movie. To me, it’s her best. The fights are great as usual, and she looks really sexy in some scenes. Truly a must-have."

Philippe D. (4/5)

Enjoyable Mid-Tier Rothrock Flick

"Sworn to Justice is your typical Cynthia Rocthrock film. The action is solid, and Rothrock carries the film with ease. It is non-essential in her catalogue however and I would not recommend it as an early watch into her filmography. Brad Dourif’s cameo stands out, but that is probably because he gives it 110% in every film that he is in!"

Michael C. (4/5)

Rothrocktastic

"Great VSA release. The slipcase is glorious. Enjoyable 90's action flick with the legendary Cynthia Rothrock kicking butt. Picture quality is excellent."

Jeffrey P. (5/5)

Sworn to Justice

"Exactly what you would expect from an American martial arts movie from the 90s. Some decent fight scenes and one "unexpected" scene that probably wore out VHS tapes back in the day. Still prefer Cynthia Rothrock's output from the 80s."

Andres P. (3/5)

Rothrock's Personal Favorite is a Good Time!

"If Cynthia Rothrock's in a movie, I watch it. No questions asked. One of the world's greatest martial artists who has made films with an incredible range of tone, every role I've ever seen her in stands out and I always walk away with at least one image from the film that will never, ever leave me. Cynthia has said on a few occasions that her favorite of her films is 'Sworn to Justice' and after a drought of it being out of print, I absolutely unexpectedly lucked into a copy and finally got to watch it. Cynthia plays a martial arts expert who gets visions of crimes/abuse whenever she holds an item that was present when it took place. It's an outside the box premise that opens the floodgate to tick all the 90s boxes of courtroom drama, office meet-cute, psychic visions, corruption-based crime syndicates, and the politics of politics. You also get a variety of not just fighting styles but fighting tones - an early Rothrock fight here is very (by her own admission) Jackie Chan-esqe with slapstick humor, and then later you get a brutal warehouse fight leading to villain disfigurment. Cynthia is a great fighter, a kind beacon of on-screen empathy and a charming romantic lead. There's just so many elements to 'Sworn to Justice' that, while the pacing is great, you do feel like you've watched like five different movies. While it's not my favorite Rothrock, or probably even top five, I still had a blast. Recommended."
