Details

This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray. The limited edition slipcover (designed by Earl Kessler Jr.) was limited to 1,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

VHSHITFEST has been uncovering and releasing movies on video for over a decade, across DVD and VHS, and is now moving into blu-ray, with the same goal to showcase the most unique, crazy, and obscure movies that they've discovered through years of collecting VHS, allowing even more people to actually be able to experience these nearly lost gems in the best versions possible.

A corrupt sheriff schemes with city officials to obtain lucrative lakefront property. In a web of lies and intrigue, the sheriff tricks two offbeat killers into murdering his partners in the deal, all in one night over the Fourth of July.

The Killing Tide never received the distribution it deserved when it was originally released, sadly falling into complete obscurity. VHSHITFEST is so happy to release one of the all-time great low budget action films of the 90s and a soon to be cult classic.

              Action!

"an incredibly fun, ambitious piece of obscure 90s action cinema that delivers non-stop, low-budget entertainment. The plot packs a great punch as an eccentric pair of hitmen find themselves caught in a chaotic web of corrupt cops, land schemes, and explosive Fourth of July violence. Loaded with bad-ass dialogue, crazy car stunts, and a hilariously unexpected musical interlude"

              Kevin G. (5/5)

              Killing Tide

"Love VHShitfest titles, and this is no exception. Buy this and a six pack for a killer night."

              Jonathan G. (5/5)

              SOV stuff isn’t my favorite

"SOV stuff isn’t my favorite subgenrw when it comes to cult and horror, but I’ve heard good things about this one and people were right. Definitely love the ambition in these where the filmmakers actually make something beyond what you’d maybe originally expected."

              Keith M. (4/5)

              Great find

"Really enjoyed this low budget oddity that somehow had the budget for a helicopter?! and insane car scenes. Wirth a go, great extras too"

              Jamie S. (5/5)

              Super Fun SOV

"This is a real SOV action gem that punches well above its weight class. You can tell how much fun everyone had making it, and it's just as fun to watch with tons of action stunts and explosions."

              Jon B. (5/5)

              I wasn’t able to finish

"I wasn’t able to finish this as I had issues with the disc, but thankfully VS is sending me a replacement copy. From what I saw though I was really enjoying it. Very silly, very low budget actioner. Extras are not a lot as far as the number of them, but what’s there is quite good and well worth your time. Artwork isn’t too bad either."

              Kyle C. (3/5)

              Cheesy SOV

"Cheese sov, mediocre artwork likely not to watch again"

              Billy-Jack D. (5/5)

              Wild Ride

"This SOV DIY flick is super fun! Very cheesy and lots of action. Highly recommended."

              Jeffrey L. (5/5)

              SOV

"A cheesy Action fill SOV? OH YEAH!! Loved it."

              Justin M. (5/5)

              Nothing special, cheese fun
