On the eve of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and on its final night before closing, a Las Vegas dive bar becomes a stage where its employees and barflies commiserate one last time. Filmmaking brothers Bill and Turner Ross train their keenly observed quasi-fiction on the lived-in atmosphere of a haunt, whose massed warmth and love conceal its patron’s worries—at least for a little while. Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets is a carefully constructed yet oddly affecting record of an American sensibility at once straining to survive and ready for the end.

Unique and awesome movie

"Blurred the line between reality and fiction in such a cool way. Really felt just like hanging out with a bunch of drunks in a bar. I hate actually going to a bar but I really loved this."

All Too Real and Lots of Fun

"This movie makes me nostalgic for the dive bars I used to go to when I was in my 20's. These actors feel lived in and it blows me away how naturalistic the performances are. There's the likable and incredibly patient bartenders, the quiet veteran who is battling demons, the old guy who regrets pissing his talent away, the cocky jerk looking for a fight, the wild mama flashing her boobs like its an afterthought and many other colorful characters that come through. There's lots of laughter, dancing, flirting, gentle ribbing and philosophical rants. Things get heavy too as they do. Then there's the sobering question- where the hell are these people gonna go when the place closes, for good? This movie is extremely well done and I'm not sure I want to know how it was made because it feels like a documentary and the filmmakers captured something special here. Love the reversible cover and I'm looking forward to checking out the extra features."
