1962. Nine-year-old Frankie Scarlatti enjoys a homespun childhood in a rustic Western New York town. The entire community gets into the spirit of Halloween, but then two bullies prank Frankie by locking him in his school cloakroom, leaving him trapped for the night. Alone and afraid, his slumber is interrupted when the ghost of a little girl appears, and Frankie witnesses the specter of her murder by an unseen assailant. Later, while recovering at home, the girl's ghost appears to him again. With help from his older brother, Frankie begins investigating the circumstances of her death. He soon discovers that her murder was one of several unsolved crimes connected to a local child-killer. As the town's bucolic veneer fades and long-buried secrets and tensions bubble to the surface, all of the clues to the mystery seem to point towards a huge mansion inhabited by a reclusive woman known as "The Lady in White."

A nostalgia-driven ghost story wrapped within an intricate murder mystery and coming-of-age drama, writer-director-composer Frank LaLoggia's passion project LADY IN WHITE remains one of the most beautiful and original American horror films of the 1980s. Featuring acclaimed actors Alex Rocco (The Godfather), Len Cariou (Executive Decision), and Sydney Lassick (Carrie, The Unseen), it boasts the first starring role by Lukas Haas (Mars Attacks, Inception) as well as breathtaking photography by Academy Award® winner Russell Carpenter (True Lies, The Lawnmower Man). Vinegar Syndrome is honored to bring this genre masterpiece to 4K UHD, newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative and presented in three versions: its pre-release director's cut, its extended home-video version, and its original theatrical version, along with an abundance of both new and archival extras.

Resurrection of the lady in white

"This was a must own and excellent addition of horror nostalgia to my collection. This movie shook me up when I was younger and can’t wait to watch it again as if it the first time! A Beautiful piece of art and is matched by the restoration of this iconic film. With all the details in the design and the amount of versions and special features, it’s an absolute edition!"

After all these years. . . . it's finally here

"I've seen a lot of ghosts themed horror movies but this was something different. It has so many things going on at the same time. You don't know what's going on. It's a ghost story a mystery, a small town that is hiding secrets you don't want to know. I'm just glad I finally have it on Blu-ray."

Louis I. (5/5)

One of the few films

"One of the few films that legit terrified me as a brat finally gets the treatment it deserves. The transfer and full release made this worth the slight delay VS faced with putting it out for our viewing pleasure. The extras alone makes the old Scream Factory release look like an old bare bones Echo Bridge release in comparison. Definitely an underrated bit of 80's supernatural horror that is worth a blind buy if you love ghost and all that haunts in the night."

Cody B. (5/5)

Possibly the most handsome release to date

"VINSYN never disappoints! I haven’t done a deep dive of the features or restoration but first impressions out of the box, I’m completely blown away! Really pumped this film got a proper release and man, what a gorgeous presentation. Truly a work of art! 🙌🏼"

A childhood favourite finally on 4K

"This film is one of my favourite childhood movies of all time. A great ghost story. And watching this on 4K again after a few years, it brought back all the nostalgia and memories. And Vinegar Syndrome really gave justice to this movie. The 4K was really impressive. Great picture quality, with clear and pristine image. The colour was amazing. The audio quality is also excellent (though can't comment as much because I don't have the best soundbar), clear and great quality. Love the whole package, with great artwork, slipcase and a booklet. I am so happy to finally own this on 4K. Vinegar Syndrome released another quality product."

Shayam F. (5/5)

One of my favorite childhood classics

"I remember watching this as kid, and probably being a bit too young to see it considering it's dark subject matter. Either way it's nice to have a stunning restoration to go with the three different cuts of the film on 4K. Bravo Vinegar Syndrome. Bravo."

Jesse W. (5/5)

"Vinegar Syndrome does it again! Another 80s gem remastered in glorious 4K! This edition comes with the movie on 4K and HD and includes a 3rd disc of special features Wonderful art, and super well made book(let) that gives a lot of insight into the movie"

Patrick (5/5)

Spooky movie

"Lady in White is a spooky movie. It came out in 1988 but the story is a period piece set in the 1960's. As you're watching it, you might even notice that it has this almost 90's made for tv quality going for it. The director's cut is over two hours but they are fully committed to letting the story simmer. The intention is probably to give you ample time to care about Frankie but you don't need it. Lukas Haas (Frankie) wins you in his first couple of scenes. If you saw this as a kid, you never forgot this gem. The set pieces give it a special kind of magic in certain scenes. The score is nothing grand but it works, by god. "Did you ever see a dream walking? Well, I did. Did you ever hear a dream talking? Well, I did. ""
