This listing is for the standard edition 4k UDH/Blu-ray Combo. The limited edition slipcover (designed by Robert Sammelin) was limited to 6,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

When college student Leslie decides that she needs a break from her controlling boyfriend Josh, her roommate Janna has the perfect suggestion - that the pair spend the summer at her family’s remote cabin on the edge of Lake Tenkiller. The vacation starts off well enough as the two friends settle into the idyllic surroundings, but their peace is soon disturbed when they begin receiving menacing calls and unsettling answering machine messages. And then there are other disconcerting goings-on - strange, watchful figures sitting out on the lake, and the ominous sound of a harmonica playing in the dead of night. Little do Leslie and Janna know that a vicious killer is at large and working their way through the local population - can they prevent themselves from being next on the chopping block?

Directed by Ken Meyer and produced by Bill F. Blair’s Tulsa-based United Entertainment, the company responsible for the similarly Oklahoma-lensed, straight-to-video 1985 horror hit BLOOD CULT (and its 1986 sequel REVENGE), TERROR AT TENKILLER is an almost dreamlike 1986 slice-and-dicer dripping with regional slasher ambience from its every frame. Now newly restored in 4K from its 16mm original camera negative and making its worldwide UHD debut, Vinegar Syndrome is thrilled to take you on a trip to TERROR AT TENKILLER with this jam-packed special edition - featuring a brand new making-of documentary, newly-unearthed behind-the-scenes footage, a short student film co-directed by star Kevin Meyer with narration by his father Ken Meyer, along with much, much more!

Reviews

Homegrown slasher

"This movie is okay. Kinda weird and fun. Great restoration. But this is my absolute favorite cover art that VS has released. Gorgeous slip case. Had to get it for the slip"

Stephen J. (5/5)

Love this film

"A lot of people online seem to hate this one, so it's not for everybody. But I love it. It's an indie art house take on the 80's slasher. Just as much a hang out movie as it's about the kills. The slipcover art is nice but is totally misleading to what the film is actually like. It's a vibe."

Gregory L. (5/5)

This is an okay decent

"This is an okay decent slasher experience. Subpar acting and some underwhelming kills but overall decent to good the art on this release is very good and this is a good discovery for slasher fans"

Will S. (4/5)

Beautiful slipcover

"Haven't seen it yet but the cover had me sold. VS always has the best remasters"

Brandon L. (5/5)

Strangely entertaining

"Made on a teeny micro-budget (and it shows), this is not a typical horror/slasher of the day: We know straight away who the killer is, and there's something about this plot device that works, despite the slow pace. The story here is about two "college girls" who escape to a lake for a short trip, primarily to get away from an abusive boyfriend, and a killer is offing local women. Because we know who the killer is, I found myself constantly watching the way he interacts with them, and vice versa. There's not a lot of gore, but what is shown isn't bad - a decent effort considering the budget and time involved. I had every right to dislike this film, but I actually found it likeable. Vinegar Syndrome has done a fantastic release here. I loved the interviews - it's fun catching up with people involved in small films like this. This won't be to everyone's taste, but my wife and I enjoyed it."

Terror at Tenkiller

"This is not a new discovery for me since I came across this movie long ago when I got it on DVD. Even tho it’s one of those Slashers that has not a lot going on for the majority of its running time and it is for the most part bloodless, I wanted to upgrade since I always thought it’s got a lot of charm to it PLUS you can finally see what’s going on during the night scenes on this beautiful 4K transfer. If you like “Final Exam” chances are you might like this."

Sebastian C. (4/5)

A bit slow, but worth a look

"So, the slip is amazing as usual and VS did an admirable job on the transfer. The film itself has moments but a bit slow overall. We'll worth a look, especially when on sale. Definitely if you're a slasher completist."

Kevin R. (4/5)

A slow regional slasher that

"A slow regional slasher that hasn't been well received. I thought it was great and packed with extras including a short film also restored with it's own extras."

Brian k. (5/5)

Joseph Z. (5/5)

Very entertaining

"This has a really low-fi feel to it, like it would have been more comfortable existing as a SOV film, but I really enjoyed it. Very leisurely paced, but held my attention throughout. Putting it on 4K seems like a pretty unnecessary cash grab, though. Oh well. Glad to have it."
