Hailed by The LA Times as "an impressively ambitious and potent first feature," Alexander Cassini's STAR TIME is an angst-ridden study of violent psychosis and media obsession, pronounced by surrealist visuals and gory violence. Co-starring John P. Ryan (IT'S ALIVE) and Maureen Teefy (FAME), Vinegar Syndrome presents this unique art-house horror film on Blu-ray, newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative and presented in its never-before-on-home-video original director's cut.

Reviews

Star time is a good time

"This one is a little artsy but there's just something about watching an actor I grew up playing Elvis be a crazy serial killer and theres also something about getting supergirl's best friend be the final girl. The director definetly had a unique vision and the effects are low budget but effective and the features brought some clarity"

Star Time

"effects are great."

Jason S. (5/5)

Utterly Deranged

"RIYL movies about weird loners losing their shit, IE: Maniac, Don’t Go in the House, etc. This is similar to that but with a Videodrome vibe. Sleeper hit."

Tyler M. (4/5)

Star Time

"Great transfer and restoration. Good acting and esoteric arthouse thriller. Great extras. Grab it before it´s gone."

Hansi L. (5/5)

Definitely the type of hidden

"Definitely the type of hidden gem that VinSyn is known for. It looks amazing. One of those that’s hard to believe it got made."

Jeffrey W. (5/5)

Star time

"A unique little gem. Solid acting and effects, and a great vibe to it. The sound is terrible, but the picture quality makes up for it. The middle part of the movie drags a bit, but the first and last act are pretty darn great"

Jeffrey W. (4/5)

A suprising pickup

"I didnt really know what I picked up when I bought it, and was really suprised how good the movie turned out to be"

Jerker Ö. (5/5)

Where are the Star Time costumes?

"So happy to see this oddball slasher preserved."

Brendon C. (5/5)

Star Time

"Strange is an understatement. Really enjoyed this one. Good picture quality."

Star Time Review

"This is one of my favorite purchases from Vinegar Syndrome so far. It’s a darkly funny, atmospheric, creepy slasher hybrid. It features some oddly compelling performances and some solid practical effects. It’s one of the only films I’ve ever seen that truly Carrie’s and captures a Lynchian vibe, with a dash of Cronenberg's Videodrome. Very impressive effort by the director."
