This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray/DVD combo. The limited edition slipcover was limited to 2,500 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.

Gregory (Clint Howard), the local ice cream man, just wants people to be nice to him and to sell the neighborhood children his ice cream treats. Unfortunately, the adults disrespect him, and the kids fear him, so, as any recently released mental patient would do, Gregory begins brutally murdering anyone who prevents him from having a happy, happy, happy day...

One of the quintessential cult horror films of the mid 90s, Norman Apstein's ICE CREAM MAN is a gleefully absurd, gory, and hilarious direct to video slasher, punctuated by an off the wall starring performance from the one and only Clint Howard and featuring Olivia Hussey (BLACK CHRISTMAS), David Naughton (AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON), and Jan-Michael Vincent (AIRWOLF). Vinegar Syndrome proudly presents this madcap gore fest in its Blu-ray debut, fully uncut and newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative!

Reviews

Ice cream melted

"Wildly uneven, and ultimately disappointing film. Not gory enough, not funny enough, with very weird performances and tone. The extras are fantastic though, and are critical, which is refreshing. VS transfer and extras are fantastic as ever."

Clint Howard rules

"Don't trust anyone that doesn't like Ice Cream Man! It's a lot of fun. Great and entertaining kills. Clint Howard plays the character perfectly."

Nolan L. (5/5)

Clint Howard's Scene Stealer

"What can be said about the Ice Cream Man? It's pure 90s low-budget horror for a rainy day with the IMMORTAL Clint Howard in the title role as a deranged serial killer ice cream man. And you have an impressively bizarre cast of cult faves backing him up including David Warner as a religious kook, the always beautiful Olivia Hussey (RIP) of Black Christmas), AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON'S David Naughton as a sleaze. and Jan-Michael Vincent looking like he doesn't want to be in the movie and playing a cop hot on the Ice Cream Man's tail. Worth it for Vincent stumbling through an insane asylum. And you get the Joe Bob Briggs version of the movie to boot! Good job Vinegar Syndrome!"

Cheaper then the DVD!

"This is blu ray is actually cheaper than the anchor Bay dvd, which can sell for UP to $60 or more on secondary markets. Do yourself a favor and pick up this blu ray!"

Essential Viewing

"I can't recommend watching ICE CREAM MAN enough, especially with friends. In fact, having friends over for a viewing of this classic is the best way to watch. Clint Howard gives the performance of his lifetime (no disrespect to Bubbles in LITTLE NICKY). ICM is wild and wacky; a lesson in camp and tone."

Matthew G. (4/5)

Clint Howard's Finest Hour. If

"Clint Howard's Finest Hour. If that's actually possible?"

What was with the Looney bin scene???

"Synopsis: In the 50's the mob whacks an ice cream vendor in broad daylight. Little Gregory witnesses the whole thing and gets shot in the head in the process. Let's just say he's pretty messed up after that. He spends years in a mental asylum before finally realizing his dream of becoming THE ICE CREAM man himself. When he's not dishing soft serve and murdering he's terrorizing The Rocketeers. They are group of poorly written cliches that include the fat one, the nerdy one, the cool one and the girl. When one of their own goes missing, and the police can't help, it's up to them to take down the dastardly ice cream man once and for all. Review: This movie seems a little out of touch at times with the kids being very poorly written. Clint Howard goes for the gusto in this one but it is very uneven and Jan Michael Vincent looks like he is annoyed to be there (the mental hospital scene???). There could and should have been a lot more gore and most of it is saved for the 3rd act. Carnage Count 2/5 Sleaze Score 1/5"
